Jack Rose: Your smack is so fresh; I mean it’s so on time and truthful.

Give me a pound dog.

Willie Beamen: What?

Jack Rose: Share the love.

Willie Beamen: I’ll pass on the love, dog.

This single conversation between Willie Beamen and Jack Rose shows how football has become simply the main attraction for a circus.  Beamen is on Rose’s show discussing football and Rose suddenly changes the conversation to politics and how blacks get ‘dissed’ in the league (few black coaches and no black owners).  It becomes apparent that Beamen is being used by the media not because he is a good quarterback, but because he is a black man leading a team to victory.  The media also does this to the mediocre Ana Kornicova and the untalented Britney Spears, just because they are sexy.  However, there is hope for the game as Beamen realizes everything and begins playing for his team.
