There has been more forms of Mothra than any other. Generation on top of generation have formed in the movies. Mothra is more of a title than a name. Each generation seems to get better than the last. However, they are all driven by the same love for the people of earth, Infant Island, and their companions, the Ailias twins. They will fight to the death to protect these things that they cherish so much.
