I am currently working on an animated pumpkin. I have no idea why, it just seemed like a good idea at the time.

I have been having a little bit of a problem getting the volumetric lighting to work properly, but I shall readdress that when I have finished rigging him.

I intend to use the process of creating the pumpkin as a feature of a couple of tutorials.

The pumpkin is finally rigged, as you can see here in this shot. I have sent the pumpkin man to inspect the hobbit hole.

The problem with the volumetrics appears to be a bug in the current version of Animation:Master. However, I can get them to work with a previous version.

And here I have some test animations.

First, a simple walk cycle, this was just to see how I could get a pumpkin to walk.

And here I have a test of some facial expressions. Rather than doing this the traditional way (animating the main mesh), as I created the eyes and mouth with boolean cutters, I just deformed the cutters. I think the effect is rather good.
