NEVER BE THE SAME-NEW CREATION-OH, HOW HALLOWED-
ONE PERFECT MOMENT-OSCAR NOMINEE

"NEVER BE THE SAME"       by  Jeff Leslie      1982, 88

Used to be that I was made for trouble
And I know that that's hard for you to see
How could such a friendly face
Be in touch with such disgrace
I'll bet you think impossibility

Started long ago, the place was Eden
Why he ate that fruit I'll never see
Guilty not he blamed his mate
Who blamed the crafty serpent's bait
Surprised am I they didn't blame the tree

But it wouldn't change a thing
The fact remains the guilt will stain
Just the one it stings
And Adam we may never be the same

But I am wrong to blame my song on Adam
Though it all began with him and Eve
When I sin it's still my choice
But then I hear a still small voice
That says the blood of Jesus made me clean

And Jesus changed everything
He washed away my guilty stain
And His praise I'll sing
For now I know I'll never be the same

And Jesus changed everything
He washed away my guilty stain
And His praise I'll sing
For now I know I'll never be the same

"NEW CREATION"       by  Jeff Leslie   1979

People often ask me what I gain from my new life
It hasn't stopped all my trials, still they come from left and right
Well, I don't think they really just what new life to them can mean
Today's distress is tomorrows glory
When you look to the things that can't be seen

I'm a new creation.  I've been born once again
Into a life that's forever, that will never see its end
I'm a new creation, not a part of this earth
And now the man I used to be
Is just a page in history

Just what awaits the man who gives his life to be reborn
Is there hope for every soul no matter how it's bent or torn
Yes, cause the life that we receive is so unlike the one replaced
In God’s eyes I’ve been perfected
For my sins are covered by His grace

I'm a new creation.  I've been born once again
Into a life that's forever, that will never see its end
I'm a new creation, not a part of this earth
And now the man I used to be
Is just a page in history

I'm a new creation
I'm a new creation
I'm a new creation

“OH, HOW HALLOWED”   by Jeffrey K. Leslie  8/11/04

Your presence in my heart
Has made me unafraid to fall
Landing on my knees I lift You up
There I can confess, dear Lord
The words You love to hear
In a prayer of holy praise that fills me up

Oh how hallowed be Thy Name
For Thine is the power
And glory forevermore, Lord
Oh how hallowed be Thy Name
Forever and evermore

Funny when I fall this this way
On any given floor
It never brings my spirit any harm
It only brings me closer, Lord
To where I want to be
There inside Your loving arms

Oh how hallowed be Thy Name
For Thine is the power
And glory forevermore, Lord
Oh how hallowed be Thy Name
Forever and evermore

For the kingdom
And the Power
And the honor
And the glory

“ONE PERFECT MOMENT”   by Jeff Leslie  5/13/99

There are moments when the seconds fly
And others when like hours they flow
On time I never can rely
The feelings quickly come and go

But give me one perfect moment
With You and me together
Give me one perfect moment
And it will hold me forever

My eyes will see a precious face
My ears will ring with Your sweet song
My soul will warm with Your embrace
My heart will fill with perfect love

Give me one perfect moment
With You and me together
Give me one perfect moment
And it will hold me forever

I believe in miracles
I know dreams come true
I know there’ll be eternity
I found it in a moment with You

Give me one perfect moment
With You and me together
Give me one perfect moment
And it will hold me forever

“OSCAR NOMINEE”  by Jeff Leslie   6/22/84

Snow capped teeth beneath a grease painted smile
And visine eyes under a Vasoline hair style
He's dressed in his Sunday best
Even his cotton socks are neatly cleaned and pressed
He is as sharp as he can be
His name is Oscar. Oscar nominee

The Dentyne in his mouth sweetens the bourbon on his breath
Outside the he smells like after shave but the inside of stinks of death
Last night he saw a girlie show
But in another town so no one else would know
A perfect saint they all agree
His name is Oscar. Oscar nominee

At church they all reserved his place in this second pew
Where he sings each verse and chorus of there by heart
When the plate is passed He’s always sure to give a bill or to
And when he’s asked to pray, he never hesitates to start

But soon the day would come when all the demons lose control
For now a greater Spirit is pulling gently at his soul
He prays the best he can and then a loving God takes them by hand
Now the prisoner is free. Happy Birthday, Oscar nominee

He used to dream about he'd see his name in brilliant neon lights
But all that time he never realized
That once the he had his name put in the Lamb’s big Book of Life
That that would make his life forever be immortalized
