PARADISE-PEER PRESSURE-REINCARNATION-ROCK IN A HARD PLACE

“PARADISE”     by  Jeff Leslie  7/24/90

A day will come and with it a ship sailing
Whose Captain every heart will recognize
He's boarding only those anticipating
We're heading for an island in the sky

It's paradise -- whose sand will span an endless shore
Paradise -- where praises ring as an ocean's roar
Paradise -- where angels fly as eagles soar
Paradise -- to live with God forevermore

So keep your eyes fixed on the east horizon
Pprepare yourself to face each morning's sun
A ship will come with sails with silver lining
And that will be the one to take us home

The sun will dawn at last to rise forever
And glory's light will shine from heaven's throne

It's paradise -- whose sand will span an endless shore
Paradise -- where praises ring as an ocean's roar
Paradise -- where angels fly as eagles soar
Paradise -- to live with God forevermore

“PEER PRESSURE”  by Jeff Leslie  9/23/86

He heard some music loudly playing
From the neighbors down the street
He was glad to hear them saying
“This is the place you want to be.”
When they offered him some liquor
He said, "No thanks. I never drink."
Then the room was filled with laughter
As he poured it in the sink

Peer pressure coming in from every side
Peer pressure - empty promises reside
But don't let them make you bend
For you’ve only found a friend
If it never did depend on peer pressure

He saw some people sniffing power
It seemed a silly thing to do
It made them laugh a little louder
This said it made them feel good, too
They kept insisting that he try it
“Then it will make you one of us
And you won't have to even buy it
You won't believe the things it does.”

Then they handed him a straw made by from a fifty dollar bill
If he used it he could take it from the place
But he reached into his soul and found within in a stronger will
Then he grabbed the straw and through it in their face

Peer pressure coming in from every side
Peer pressure - empty promises reside
But don't let them make you bend
For you’ve only found a friend
If it never did depend on peer pressure

“REINCARNATION” by Jeff Leslie   6/25/84

Wise man wading in a crystal stream
In all his learned knowledge he insists
Some time in his shaded past he lived in another life
He's sure his soul began as a slippery fish
His wrinkled toes are tickled as a guppy slithers by
"I think I've seen your face before. Could you have been my wife?"

Reincarnation-I'm gonna live again
Reincarnation- and come back in a different skin
Reincarnation- I lived a million times before
Reincarnation- and I'm gonna live a million more

Wise man walking through a forest deep
Leaves and lumber high as he can see
Sometime in the future he will live another life
Chances are he’ll come back as a tree
And when he's lived a thousand years he'll reach above the smog
While down below he'll find his friends are all the local dogs

Why don't they believe the Way that’s written in the Word
Better that than what they think instead
To me, reincarnation is just wild imagination
They’ve got so much to gain if they believe what Jesus said

AND NOT...

Reincarnation-I'm gonna live again
Reincarnation- and come back in a different skin
Reincarnation- I lived a million times before
Reincarnation- and I'm gonna live a million more

"ROCK IN A HARD PLACE"      by Jeff Leslie   5/14/92

There are days when the devil gets me running
There are days when he gets me where I stand
Either way, whenever I sense trouble coming
Or the ground below is shifting like the sand
All I do is take a step in His direction
And Jesus Christ will meet me where I am

He's my Rock when I'm in a hard place
He's my strength when I'm at a slow pace
He means more to me than talk
(For He's) everywhere I walk
He's my Rock

If ever I get lost in the confusion
And too many choices cloud my feeble mind
Before I dare to make a bold decision
I seek the Source where wisdom is divine
For when I take a step in His direction
Jesus Christ will meet me every time

He's my Rock when I'm in a hard place
He's my strength when I'm at a slow pace
He means more to me than talk
(For He's) everywhere I walk
He's my Rock

Stronger than a mighty wind
Wiser than the best of men
Faithful to the very end
Jesus Christ my Lord

He's my Rock when I'm in a hard place
He's my strength when I'm at a slow pace
He means more to me than talk
(For He's) everywhere I walk
He's my Rock
