“WHEN JESUS CAME TO JERICHO”
   11/10/95, 4/15/06

As the sun beamed down and burned the sand
Sweat stung the eyes of the blinded man
He wiped them dry with his dingy cloak
Begging on the streets of Jericho

And people passed him every day
Without a coin for his cup of clay
All they heard were his endless cries
“Oh, why do I have blinded eyes?”

Then he heard a song coming down a distant road
He heard a song and his heart was filled with hope
The music played and he’d never be the same
On the day when Jesus came to Jericho

The music that the blind man heard
Was the simple sound of the Savior’s words.
So the man cried out above the crowd
Until Jesus stopped and turned around

He told them, “Bring the blind to me
For I, alone, can make them see
To prove I am the Light, the Way
This sightless man will see today.”

Then he heard a song coming down a distant road
He heard a song and his heart was filled with hope
The music played and he’d never be the same
On the day when Jesus came to Jericho

Down through the ages his story will be told
About the way his life was changed and the Man Who made it so
He never saw Him coming but he watched the Saviour go

“GOOD AS NEW”
4/10/06

At the wedding in Cana
You changed water to wine
For the beggar in Jericho
You gave sight to the blind
And then thousands would feast
Upon a few loaves and fish
Now for me you have granted
What my heart could only wish

And to think, my Saviour, all You had to do
Was say the word and my wish would come true

You can walk on the water
You can fly like the wind
You can tear down the temple
And then build it again
But the greatest thing
That you will ever do
Is take my broken heart
And make it good as new

All alone in the garden
You would give up your will
So Your Father could pardon
And His purpose be fulfilled
With the sins of the world
And the cross on Your back
You would ask for forgiveness
For the ones who had attacked

“THE RAINBOW”
4/21/06

Once upon a time an eastern boy and western girl
Would follow every rainbow from their homes across the world
One day their fates would make them see the the same clear colors bend
And they found themselves together at that rounded rainbows end

Searching high and low for gold it seemed that there was none
Then suddenly their eyes met and at once they fell in love
They decided at that moment till the day they grew too old
They'd follow every rainbow till they found that pot of gold

As the days turned into weeks and months and months turned into years.
They traveled over land and sea through laughter, love, and tears
After time the children came and followed close behind
And learned to chase the rainbows for the gold that they may find

Life passed quickly by them and they never found the gold
All they had were memories and stories that were told
And all the great adventures that they had along the way
Became the greatest pleasures of their lives from day to day

So don't be disappointed if you never find the prize
It's in people that you meet and greet. That's where the treasure lies
Gold is not in copper pots at colored rainbow’s end
It's hiding in the winding path you follow 'round the bend


“I WILL GLORIFY”

I was in a whirlpool that kept pulling me
Further down to drown in my iniquity
Satan called my name
And I played his ugly game
Taken by surprise I was deceived

Surrounded by my sin in the darkest night
Having turned my back on the Holy Light
I had lost my way until I began to pray
Have mercy on me, Jesus.  Here am I

And this love within my heart
Is only just the start

I'm so glad I've come today to praise and worship you
Here is where I find my way and love to see me through
All my life I yearned for more, not knowing where to go
Then I found Your opened door and stepped into Your world.

It took some time to realize I must be like a child
I need the sight of youthful eyes to freely be inspired
