Someone asked if I believe in angels
With wings and rings of gold around their hair
Are they living with the Father in the heavens
Where light and love and laughter fill the air?

Not only do I think they're living, lighting up the stars
I believe they're here, for one is capturing my heart

I've fallen in love with an angel
I'm sure she was sent from the Father to me
I've fallen in love with an angel
She must be a hint of what heaven will be

I've heard from age to age there is a saying
“On earth you may meet angels in disguise.”
For a long and lonely lifetime I've been waiting
Now it's true for here's one right before my eyes

How else can you explain the kind of love to me she brings
I'll help her with her coat, and one day find she's hiding wings

When no longer I spend dollars
On the things that fall apart

Before I take another breath

My tears are drops of silver
For I value now my happiness
My lonliness was golden
For I've learned the worth of friendliness

My pain will bring me pleasure
As it proves what perseverance is
My weeping leads to laughter
For without it joy could not exist

In war I find a fortress
And appreciate the coming peace
Surrendering to Jesus
He will conquer all my enemies

This sinner is forgiven
As I realize I once was lost
The Innocent was sacrificed
My ransom paid upon a cross

My life is not worth living
Like the Word that sits upon a shelf
Unless I'm always giving
I'm a better man denying self

Now everything means nothing
When it comes to all that I possess
For what I want I cannot see
It comes with life that follows death

One summer day I woke my wife up
With the rising of the sun.
I asked her, “Do you think we had the chance
To choose what we've become?

“Because the Father said He knew us
Long before our time on earth,
And He had every minute written down
Before our day of birth.

“So did we have a conversation
Where He told us of His plan,
And how we each had a specific role
To do as He commands?

“Or did He give the opportunity
For each of us to choose
All of our trials and tribulations
And the gifts that we would use?

“I only ask you 'cause you know me well.
You see what I endure.
And though it's not a crucifixion,
It's a hard life to be sure.

“Since the first day you said you loved me,
You've been always by my side.
And there you've laughed when I was laughing,
And you've dried the tears I've cried.

“Sometimes I watch you as you're sleeping
After such a dreadful day,
And I just close my eyes and thank the Lord
For sending you my way.

“Because, like Jesus, you have helped me
With your tender loving care,
And you have carried on your shoulders
Burdens I could never bare.

“The most important thing you've done for me,
You'll never understand.
For even after all I've been through,
You make me a thankful man.

Now and then I hear a phrase
That sounds a little odd
It comes from those who have no faith
And say, “There is no God.”

I was raised believing
Just the opposite is true
And now that I am grown
My faith in Him is growing, too

I have, however, taken time
To try to visualize
The fate that lies in store for us
If I believe a lie

The blind will never see
And all the lame will never walk
The deaf will never hear
If you can't speak, you'll never talk

If every day you suffer
With disease that has no cure
You'll die without a reason
For the pain you have endured

We'll never know the answers
To the questions about life
And babies who could not be born
Will never see the Light

Creation, evolution
Nine-eleven, life on Mars
Can hairs really be numbered?
What exists beyond the stars?

If there is not a God
If there is not a Prince of Peace
This vicious war with terror
That we have will never cease

But maybe, oh, just maybe
What the Bible says is true
Then if it is, there is a God
And dreams will all come true

I'd rather take the risk
Of faith in heaven up above
Than miss out on what could be:
God's eternal perfect love

When I want to see my God
I look to Jesus
For the Father and the Son
They are both One and the same
When I long for Abba's Word
The Savior tells me
And the cross gives me the honor
To reply in Jesus' Name

Because of Jesus

I have seen Your handiwork
Where You molded up the mountains we call Wichita.
Near the town where I grew up,
As a child I tried to climb them to the very top.

I have smelled the winter wheat when it was ripe enough to eat,
Then I held it in my hand to watch it blow away like sand
Oh, how lovely the sooner state is!
Is it anything like where You live?
