Chapter 9
"Does she know you are coming?" AJ asked Nikki on the phone.
"Well she thought I was coming before the end of the month but I have to go and talk some sense into that girl."
"She’s going to be mad at you."
"No she won’t."
"You just deciding to move in now I think that might upset her a little."
"She can’t be mad at me we’ve been friends since the fifth grade."
"Somehow I don’t think she’ll put that into perceptive when she is yelling at you for moving in and when you try and force her to go to that damn party."
"Shut up AJ."
"Fine."
"Good."
"Why won’t you tell me what happened?"
"Because I’m just not going to."
"Please?" AJ whined.
"Stopping whining."
"Fine, so when are you getting in?"
"Probably around noon or one so be at the damn airport to pick me up."
"Ok."
"Ok well I’m going to go and try and get some sleep."
"Ok bye."
"Bye."
"Hello?" Jana asked into her cell phone as she dug in her purse for the keys to her apartment.
"Jana?"
Jana silently yelled at herself for answering the phone then said, "Yeah."
"Ignoring me?" Nick asked with a little laugh.
"What makes you think that?"
"No reason. So doing anything Tuesday?"
"Why?"
"Just wanted to know if you wanted to go to a party."
"Oh yeah? Parties are good."
"Yeah."
"Who’s party?"
"Mine it’s my CD release party."
"What are you fucking me?"
Nick laughed and said, "No comment."
"You’re inviting me to go to a party in New York tomorrow?"
"Yep that’s what it sounded like. You game?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because."
"Why?"
"Hold on someone is at my door." Jana said as she sat her phone down and walked over to the door. She opened it to see Nikki standing there with a huge grin on her face carrying bags along with AJ behind her also with bags.
"What the fuck?" Jana asked as they walked in.
"I’m moving in." Nikki replied with a grin.
"What?"
"I didn’t stutter."
"I thought you weren’t going to come until the end of the month."
"Well I changed my mind."
Jana rolled her eyes and grabbed her cell phone.
"Company?" Nick asked laughing.
"Did you know about this?"
"No."
"Liar."
"I didn’t. So are you going to come or not?"
"Not."
"Fine." He replied sounding disappointed.
"Ok then."
"Well talk to you later Jana."
"Yeah." Jana said as she hung up.
"Who was that?"
"God."
"Really?" Nikki asked with wide eyes.
Jana shook her head and sat on the couch and looked up at Nikki and AJ saying good bye. She sighed and turned on the TV.
"Bye good luck with her." AJ said in Nikki’s ear after he gave her a kiss.
"Yeah I’ll need it."
"How are you planning on getting her there?"
Nikki grinned and shrugged.
"You’re not telling?"
She shook her head as AJ opened the door and left.
"So Jana what are we going to do?" Nikki asked as she flopped down on the couch next to Jana.
Jana shrugged.
"Want to go out?"
She shook her head no.
"Well I have something planned it’s a surprise."
"Goodie." Jana replied as she twirled her finger.
"Get ready; pack a bag for two nights."
"Where the fuck are we going?"
"Key word surprise. Now go scoot."
Jana rolled her eyes then got up and walked in her room. Nikki watched her and then grinned to herself and rubbed her hands together. She was evil but she loved it.
"I don’t see why you had to put me in a fucking blindfold." Jana said as her and Nikki made their way to the private plane Nick set up so Jana wouldn’t get suspicious when they were in a crowded plane because she already was asking questions when they got to the airport but Nikki lied pretty good about it all.
"Just stop whining and walk damn it."
"Bitch." Jana mumbled under her breath.
"Ok step up." Nikki said as they got on the plane.
They sat down and right before they got to take off Nikki took Jana’s blindfold off.
"A plane?"
Nikki grinned.
"Where are we going?"
She shrugged.
Jana sighed heavily then leaned her head back and closed her eyes.
The pilot made an announcement about landing in New York a few hours later. Jana’s eyes shot open and she turned her head to look at Nikki who was smiling innocently at her.
Jana glared at her and said, "Tell me I was hearing fucking things."
"What did you hear?" Nikki asked.
"New York?"
Nikki smiled and nodded.
Jana rolled her eyes and said, "Why?"
"Because I know you really wanted to come you just needed a little push." Nikki said with a smile.
"Bull shit I didn’t need a push. I wish for once you would stay out of my god damn love life."
"Is it so horrible that I want to see you happy?"
"Happy? How do you know I’m not already happy?"
"I’m not blind."
"Nikki I can’t fucking believe this." Jana said as the plane landed.
"Why? It’s just a party."
"Just a party? Bull shit it’s his party. He’s going to be there. God you piss me off so bad sometimes I just want to hit you."
"You know what Jana I tired of your shit I’m sorry that I care and that I want you to be happy. Wait, I’m not sorry. I shouldn’t have to be sorry."
Jana sat back rolling her eyes.
Nikki sighed as she got her bag and made her way to the front of the plane.
They were silent all the way to the hotel and the whole time they were getting ready. Then they got in the cab to head to the party and once again they weren’t saying anything to each other. That was one thing about fighting between them they both had to be right and neither of them would apologize. It was really childish when you thought about it but they didn’t care they eventually made up when the time was right.
They got to the party and immediately Jana made her way to the bar and started ordering herself shot after shot. She had to have some sort of alcohol this was going to be one interesting night she knew after she got a glimpse of Nick and what he was wearing and the way her body was reacting. She hated her body sometimes.
Jana was on her fifth shot of tequila and that was just the beginning when Nick came up behind her. She didn’t know he was there; he just stood there watching her until she turned around looking him in the eyes.
