Kaitlyn rolled her eyes as she just laughed.
“I’m glad you have a sense of humor,” Nick said after a few moments of silence.
Kaitlyn looked at him scrunching up her eyebrows confused.
“I’m serious, if I was on a date with let’s say girls I’ve dated in the past they would be yelling at the waiter or someone higher up than him or someone just to get the point across that she was with me and people aren’t allowed to make mistakes when they are with me.”
Kaitlyn smiled as she looked back down at her menu.
“I’m really glad you decided to come out with me.”
“Well I figured you wouldn’t leave me alone otherwise,” Kaitlyn replied grinning at him.
“Oh I probably would have eventually.”
“Damn, if only I could have held out longer,” She said laughing.
“Oh now that hurts,” Nick said putting his hand on his heart.
“I’m just playing don’t get your panties in a wad.”
“Panties?”
“Boxers whatever.”
“What if I told you I was going commando?” Nick asked cocking an eyebrow.
Kaitlyn leaned in licking her lips and said, “What if I told you the same thing?”
Nick groaned inwardly and could feel his pants start to tighten.
Kaitlyn laughed as she leaned back in her chair more than satisfied with the reaction she received.
“You are so different. One night you are all school and work and the next you are like that. Which one is the real you?”
Kaitlyn grinned and shrugged, “Who knows.”
Chapter 15
Nick cocked an eyebrow at Kaitlyn as he grinned, “Really?”
Ok so this night did not start off as planned but after we ordered our food it all went well. We weren’t talking as much because well we were eating and I’m not some chick that doesn’t like to eat in front of guys. I like to eat and I do it. Sometimes if they are lucky they might even get a burp or something. Psh… yeah right I’m a little more conservative than that.
I feel so weird because we aren’t talking it’s nothing but awkward silence. I take a bite and look up at him and then he does the same and we just kind of look at each other as we are chopping down on our food. Might I add that he is not pretty when he eats. Hate to break it to you girls out there but he isn’t. Nope.
“Man I’m full,” Nick said as he pushed his plate to the side and leaned back in his chair.
Kaitlyn just watched him.
“What?”
“Nothing,” She replied shaking her head.
“Ok then.”
Kaitlyn looked up at the waiter walked over grabbing Nick’s plate and asking if he wanted more wine. She watched Nick talk and noticed he had a huge piece of something in his teeth. She looked down trying to keep herself from laughing out loud.
“What?” Nick asked curiously.
Kaitlyn looked up and said, “Uh… you have something… in your teeth.”
Nick shook his head because she was laughing at him. He felt like such an idiot yet again. “I’ll be back,” Nick said as he got up from the table.
Kaitlyn finally let it all out and just started laughing out loud. Nick need to loosen up a little and realize that shit like that happened. He looked so embarrassed when he got up. She looked up to Nick walking back over to the table. He sat down and didn’t say a word. “Sorry,” Kaitlyn said softly as she twirled her napkin around her finger.
Nick shrugged it off and said, “It happens. I had business to do in there anyway.”
Kaitlyn nodded as she looked up to see the waiter walk back over.
“Madam would like some more wine?”
“No thanks,” Kaitlyn replied politely.
“Can you just get me the check? We are finished,” Nick said as he glanced over at Kaitlyn, who nodded, and then looked back at the waiter smiling.
“So it didn’t turn out that bad,” Kaitlyn said as she smiled slightly.
“Yeah, I guess,” Nick replied shrugging as he downed the rest of his wine.
Kaitlyn looked around sensing Nick wasn’t exactly too happy about something. Probably the fact that she pointed he had food in his teeth, but she would want someone to do that to her if she had food in her teeth. She didn’t see what the big deal was with it.
The waiter came back with the check and Nick handed him his credit card and then he walked away again.
Kaitlyn looked at Nick, feeling the effect of the wine she just downed hit her body. She sighed as she studied his face. She couldn’t help the butterfly feeling in her stomach as she stared at him, he was just that gorgeous. Just a tint of facial hair on his chin that was extremely sexy. And then those lips… those kissable lips.
“Kaitlyn?” Nick asked again waving his hand in the air.
Kaitlyn shook her head snapping out of her daze and looked at him, “Yeah?”
“You ready to go?”
“Yeah,” She said as she threw her napkin on the table and then stood up straightening her dress.
Well damn. I think I shouldn’t have had that fourth glass of wine. I’m really feeling the effect now. And Nick is looking better than ever. Oh god.
So should I even mention the date? Because frankly I don’t think it went over as well as Nick wanted. I think Nick was slightly disappointed or mad I couldn’t tell. Either way he wasn’t exactly happy. I wonder what would make him happy. Stop thinking dirty.
Nick and Kaitlyn sat in the back of the car on their way back to Kaitlyn’s apartment. Kaitlyn looked over at Nick, who was looking out the window, and then she looked out the window on her side. “Oh a Dairy Queen can we stop?” Kaitlyn asked sweetly as she looked at Nick.
“Seriously?”
“I’ll pay I want some ice cream oh come,” She replied as she started to pout a little.
Nick rolled his eyes sighing and then smiled at her, “Fine.”
“Thanks,” She said smiling back at him as he leaned up to tell the driver to turn around.
Kaitlyn jumped out of the car and waited for Nick to get out and then she grabbed his arm dragging him inside with her. “Come on.”
“You are like a kid in a candy store or something.”
“Well this is nearly a candy store.”
Nick shook his head as the girl behind the counter smiled sweetly at him. Kaitlyn looked at the girl and then at Nick and then back again, “Excuse me?” She asked waving her hand in front of the girl’s face.
“Yes? I’m sorry can I help you?”
“I want a medium M&Ms blizzard,” Kaitlyn looked at Nick, “What about you?”
“I’m good.”
“Oh come on, you know you want something,” Kaitlyn said as she poked Nick in the side repeatedly causing him to laugh.
“Stop it I’m ticklish,” Nick replied pushing her slightly while the girl behind the corner just laughed.
“You guys make a really cute couple,” She said causing them to stop and then look at each and then back at her.
“I’ll take what she’s getting,” Nick replied as he smiled at the girl.
The girl’s face turned a nice shade of pink as she rang up their order. “That’s going to be $6.87.”
Nick took out his wallet and handed her his credit card.
“I told you I was going to pay,” Kaitlyn said as she looked at him with her hands on her hips.
Nick shrugged and just smiled wide at her, “You’re too slow.”
Kaitlyn pushed Nick slightly and then went and sat down in a corner booth.
“Here you go,” Nick said as he sat down across from her.
“Thanks.”
Nick smiled at her as she took a huge bit of her ice cream.
“What?”
“I’m not used to girls like you.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well like what I said earlier and now you like to eat. I always look like some pig because I eat something meaty while they eat a tiny salad or something.”
“Oh yeah I love food. God you’d think I’d be huge with all the junk I eat but I’m not thank god. But if I was oh well.”
“You don’t care what you look like?”
“Not really, I have more important things to worry about.”
Nick just smiled back at her as he started to eat his ice cream.
There he goes again. Giving me that heart stopping smile. My god does he know the power that smile has? I don’t understand, I’m being me and he’s enjoying it. That’s definitely a first. I’m a dork. I’m being completely truthful with him and he’s not laughing at me or something. It’s odd.
But it is also nice to be able to be myself and not worry what someone is thinking. Granted, I don’t really care what someone is thinking but everyone is always so judgmental of someone else and it’s just not right sometimes.
“Here you have some ice cream on your lip,” Nick said as he wiped the ice cream on Kaitlyn’s face off with his thumb.
Kaitlyn watched him suck the ice cream off of his thumb and did everything in her power not to jump over the table onto him. Did he know how sexy that was? Was he doing it slowly on purpose? Was he trying to kill her?
“Are you ok?” He asked smirking, knowing the effect he was having on her.
“Yeah, I’m great,” Kaitlyn replied as she took another bite of her ice cream.
Nick smiled as he continued to eat his own ice cream.
“I love ice cream,” Kaitlyn announced as they walked back to the car.
“I can tell,” Nick replied laughing.
“I know I kept saying that.”
“Yep,” Nick replied as he grabbed her hand as they made their way into the parking lot.
Kaitlyn didn’t resist as he grabbed her hand she looked down at their hands and then up at him and then straight forward. He opened the door for her and she felt the butterfly feeling sweep over her again as she got in and he closed the door after her.
“I had a really good time tonight, well even with the flaws ya know,” Nick said as they stood in front of the door to her apartment.
“Yeah it wasn’t that bad,” Kaitlyn replied smiling.
“Yeah maybe next time it’ll be better.”
“Next time?” Kaitlyn asked cocking an eyebrow.
“Yeah, hopefully there will be one?”
Kaitlyn pressed her lips together grinning and then said, “Who knows maybe if you’re lucky.”
Nick nodded and then started to lean in closer to Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn leaned in as well and gave him a sweet and innocent kiss before he had a chance to kiss her first, “Night,” She said as she started to unlock her door.
“Yeah, I’ll call you.”
“Alright,” Kaitlyn replied smiling even more as she walked in and then closed the door leaning her forehead against it.
