Who Do You Love?

"So you don’t think your daughter is an angel?" Nick asked after the stopped laughing.

"Not really she’s like her mom. She’s got an attitude and isn’t the most pleasant person in the morning and if she doesn’t get her way you don’t want to be around."

Nick just laughed at her answer. Then they were quiet for a few seconds, either of them not knowing what to say.

"So how long have you and your girlfriend been together?" Jerrica asked breaking the silence.

"About a year and a half."

"Are you excited to get married?"

"Not really."

"How come?"

"Well, I don’t know. It was kind of like what comes next. Like we moved in together, we told each ‘I love you’ and then it was the next thing you should do get married. I mean I love her and all but I don’t think I’m ready for marriage. But that’s what she wanted, I don’t know it’s all so crazy and confusing to me. When did you know you wanted to marry Matt?"

Jerrica sighed and thought about her answer and then said, "Well, I knew I wanted to marry him because I loved him more than anything. And whenever he was gone I was in physical pain that he wasn’t there, I ached to see him and be near him. Just things like that."

"See that doesn’t happen with me when Shanna is gone."

"Maybe you really don’t love her."

"No, I do."

"Ok."

They were quiet again until the baby-sitter knocked on the door. Jerrica got up and opened it. Alexis gave her a quick hug and walked over to Nick smiling.

"Hi, I’m glad mommy made you come back." Alexis said to Nick as she sat down and Jerrica closed the door.

"She told me the next day after you came over that I needed to bring you back or she was going to be mad." Jerrica said as she walked into the kitchen.

"So you liked me hanging out with you?" Nick asked Alexis.

Alexis shook her head yes and ran out of the living room into her room.

"Oh no she’s getting the dolls." Jerrica said as she started to cook macroni and cheese.

"What?" Nick asked walking in the kitchen.

"My dumb ass brother-in-law felt the need to buy Alexis some dolls. Not barbie dolls like she wanted but two of the N Sync dolls, I believe Lance and Justin, then the Britney doll which was ok. And then the Aaron Carter doll. She plays with them all the time. I watched her one day and man I think she has my mind set already. She was making Justin and Lance do some nasty things."

Nick just started laughing and then said, "She has my brother’s doll?"

"Yep, she’s going to make you play with them. That’s what she went to get. She plays with them all the time." Jerrica replied as Alexis came out of her room a bunch of dolls and clothes in her arms.

"Mommy, Nick we are playing house." Alexis said as she sat down.

"I’m cooking food. Play with Nick." Jerrica said.

"No mommy you gotta play too."

"I’m cooking you food."

"Mommy you gotta play!" Alexis said as she started to jump up and down.

"Fine give me a minute."

Nick started laughing, "And you say she’s not an angel?" He asked walking back into the living room and having a seat on the floor looking at the dolls and began to laugh.

"Mommy come on! You are going to be the mommy and Nick is going to be the daddy." Alexis said as Jerrica walked in and sat down between Nick and Alexis.

"But I wanna be the mommy." Nick whined as he picked up the Britney doll.

Jerrica laughed as she watched Alexis.

"Now mommy you and Nick have to kiss." Alexis said as Jerrica and Nick looked at each other.

"You mean the dolls right?"

"Duh!" Alexis said.

"Well you play with Nick I’m going to finish dinner." Jerrica said as she stood up and went into the kitchen.

‘Stop it. Stop thinking about him like that. He has a girlfriend that he is going to marry and he is younger.’ Jerrica thought to herself.

"Mommy, Nick is going to stay the night he can sleep in my bed." Alexis said as she walked into the kitchen.

"She volunteered me I didn’t say anything." Nick said as he sat down.

"Nick you can be my new daddy, and then I get a new brother or sister." Alexis looking at Nick, while Jerrica almost spit her soda out.

"Umm..." Nick started to say.

"It’s only cause you play with me and well I don’t have anyone else to play with." She concluded as she walked into her room.

"Oh god."

"Where does she get that?"

"More than likely the baby-sitter or my mother who knows."

"So you don’t want anymore kids?" He asked as she started to walk over to her.

"No."

"So you have no plans of ever getting involved with someone again and having a family?" He asked getting closer to her.

"If I find the right guy." She said looking him in the eyes.

"Who would that be?" He asked leaning in closer.

"You." She whispered as they began to kiss.

"MOMMY!" Alexis yelled from her room.

They separated looked at each other then Jerrica walked off into Alexis’s room.

"What the hell am I doing?" Nick asked himself as he hit himself upside the head.

"Yeah baby?" Jerrica asked as she walked into Alexis’s room.

"Where is snuggles?" Alexis asked referring to her bear.

"I don’t know sweetie." Jerrica replied as Nick walked in.

"Nice room." He said scaring Jerrica.

"I got to paint it myself." Alexis said proudly.

"My favorite color green."

"I found snuggles now I’m going to go finish dinner ok baby?"

"Ok." Alexis and Nick said at the same time.

Jerrica looked up at Nick who was smiling as she walked out of the room.

"Well I think I’m going to go." Nick said as he walked into the kitchen.

"That’s a wise choice." Jerrica replied.

"You’re going?" Alexis asked.

"Yeah, but if your mom says it’s ok I’ll come back."

Alexis smiled as she went back in her room.

Nick walked up to Jerrica about to say something but Jerrica interrupted him.

"Nick you really should go now." She said looking at him.

He walked up to her gave her a kiss on the cheek and said, "Bye Jerrica."
