What a Busy Life We Lead
"Seriously?" Nick asked shocked.
Madison laughed and said, "Yeah."
"Right on."
"But we are leaving Milwaukee tonight."
"Me too."
"Where you going next?" Madison asked as she stood up walking to the end of the stage and jumped off in front of Nick.
"I think L.A."
"We’re going to New York."
"Madison Marie Lewis, if you’re not in that car outside in ten minutes I’m going to physically put your ass in it." John yelled as he walked into the club.
"Well, I have to go." Madison said laughing.
"What about our date?" Nick asked grinning.
Madison just shrugged.
"Give me your cell phone and the next time we are in or around the same town I’ll call you."
Madison studied him for a second and then shrugged and gave him her cell phone number. "Well, goodbye." She said as she smiled at him and then walked off.
"Bye Madison." Nick said as he watched her walk off.
She turned around and waved at him a little then turned back around walking backstage.
"I can’t believe you’re going to go out on a date with Nick Carter."
"Me neither, I’m not sure what came over me and possessed me to say yes."
"What do you mean?"
"I feel uncomfortable around him."
Tony looked at her weird and asked, "What do you mean?"
"He just makes me uncomfortable but we’re never going to be in the same town again so I don’t have to worry about a date with him."
Tony looked at her confused but opted against asking anything else about the matter.
"Yo, you guys realize tomorrow we’re going to be on TRL?" Jake asked as he sat down next to Tony.
"Yeah." Madison said quietly as she stared out the window.
"God, its crazy don’t you thin-?"
Madison looked down at her ringing cell phone.
"You going to answer it?" Tony asked.
Madison just shrugged looking at it.
Jake and Tony looked at each other and then back at her strangely.
"Answer the damn phone already." Jake said growing a little annoyed.
Madison gave him a dirty look as she picked up her cell phone. "Hello?"
"Madison?"
Shocked Madison just sat there with her mouth hanging open slightly.
Nick started to laugh a little. "Madison?"
"I didn’t think you’d actually call."
"Why?"
"I don’t know." She replied shrugging.
Tony mouthed ‘Who is it?’ to her but she waved her arm for him to stop. Then he looked at Jake grinning and said it was Nick and they started making kissing noises.
"What is that?" Nick asked laughing.
"Tony and Jake they are being stupid." Madison said flipping them off, causing them to laugh even more.
"So what’s up?"
"Uh… nothing. What about you?"
"Nothing I'm all by myself. I'm pretty bored actually." He replied laughing a little.
"Oh, so you decided to call me?"
"Yeah, I figured you could occupy my time for a while."
Madison rolled her eyes. "Really?"
Nick grinned. "You know it."
Madison shook her head as the car stopped. "Well sorry I couldn’t occupy it longer but we are at the airport. I have to go."
"Where are you guys headed?"
"I told you earlier, New York we are doing the Jimmy Kimmel show and then TRL."
"TRL really?"
"Yeah, we’re really excited about it."
"That’s cool have fun."
"Yeah, well I guess I’ll talk to you later?"
"Sure."
"Bye."
"Bye." Nick said as he hung up the phone grinning as Mike walked into his hotel room with two girls.
"So, are you nervous?" Tony asked Madison as they sat in the green room at the TRL studio.
Madison looked over at Tony and said, "I don’t know I’m trying not to actually think about it too much you know."
"I’m hella nervous; I think I’m going to piss my pants." Tony replied as he looked around the room.
"That’s wonderful Tony." Shane replied rolling his eyes.
They all sat in silence each of them fidgeting or doing some annoying habit when they were nervous. They all stopped when Madison’s cell phone began to ring and looked at her.
"Hello?"
"Hey."
"Nick?" She asked in disbelief.
Tony looked back over at her eyes wide and grinning.
"Yeah." Nick replied laughing.
"What do you want?"
"Well I wanted to wish you luck, ya know since you’re going to be on TRL today and everything."
"Oh."
"So good luck."
"Thanks." Madison replied still a little confused.
Nick started to laugh and said, "Ok then, I’ll talk to you later."
"Ok?"
"Bye." He replied and hung up before Madison could reply.
Madison set her phone down still confused and shocked. She looked up at Shane, Jake, and Tony and their expressions spoke for themselves, they wanted details.
Madison started to laugh.
"What’s so funny?" Tony asked.
"You guys’ expressions are the same. I can tell what you’re thinking. You want to know why Nick called again and what he wanted and what he said… blah, blah, blah."
Shane, Jake, and Tony all exchanged looks and then looked back at Madison.
"She’s good." Jake said laughing as the others nodded in agreement.
"Oh my god, I think we just made the biggest fools of ourselves." Madison said on their way back to the hotel.
"Why do you say that? I think it went quite well." Shane replied looking at Madison.
"Well, I don’t think it went well at all." Madison said crossing her arms and staring out the window.
Shane just shrugged and looked straight ahead as Madison’s cell phone began to ring again.
"Damn girl, he must really want that date." Jake said laughing.
Madison flipped him off as she picked up her phone. "Hello?"
"Two weeks from tomorrow."
"Huh?"
Nick started to laugh. "Two weeks from tomorrow I’m off for two days."
"Ok?"
"So, where are you going to be? I’ll come to you."
"Uh, I don’t know." Madison replied as she hit her forehead with her hand.
"Well find out and get back to me. Ok?"
"Uh… ok."
"So how did TRL go?"
"I think it went horribly."
"Why do you say that?"
"No reason."
"Well if it went bad, there has to be a reason."
"Not necessarily."
"Ok."
"Well, I have to go. I’ll call you some time this week and let you know where we’ll be."
"Ok." Nick replied suspecting something a little fishy with her.
"Bye." She said hanging up the phone before he could say anything.
