Home Sweet Home
Madison stared at the house in awe, "I swear your house is the size of like ten of my old one back home."
Nick laughed as he got out of the car and walked to the back to get their bags out.
"Seriously, I may get lost do you have a map for this place?"
"You’re too cute," Nick replied in a serious tone as he grabbed their bags and headed to the front door.
Madison stood there a minute and then looked around. Then he Nick yelled for her to come in and the she ran up the stairs to the front door. "Damn," She breathed as he looked around his house.
"God you make it sound like it’s a palace or something."
Madison looked at Nick and said, "It is."
Nick shook his head laughing as he grabbed her hand, "Come on let me show you around."
"Oh, the grand tour," Madison replied chuckling.
"Yep, only the real special people get the grand tour of the place."
"Oh is that how it is?"
Nick looked back at Madison flashing his sexy grin causing Madison’s stomach to do flip flops.
"And we are here," Nick said as they pulled into his driveway.
Madison stepped out of the shower into the steamed filled bathroom. She walked over to the mirror wiping off the steam and looking at herself, the bags weren’t as bad and she wasn’t as pale. She brushed her we hair and then put it up in a sloppy ponytail. She finished drying herself off and then put her tank top and pajama pants on. She tightened the drawstring on her pants and then walked out of the bathroom.
She stood in the doorway of the bathroom looking around Nick’s room and then she slowly made her way out of the room. Slowly she started walking down the hall peeking in the other rooms and just taking everything around her in. She walked down the stairs and went into the living room and sat down next to Nick on the couch. She tucked her legs underneath her as she leaned on him a little and he put his arm around her.
"You smell good," Nick said as he smiled down at her and then kissed her bare shoulder.
"So are you saying I stunk before?"
"No," Nick replied grinning widely at her.
"Sure."
"So do you want to watch a movie?"
"Sure," Madison replied shrugging.
"Does it matter?"
"I don’t care."
"Ok," Nick said as he started to flip through the movie channels.
"Stop," Madison said as she grabbed the remote choosing A Walk to Remember.
"Well alright I guess we’re watching this," Nick said laughing as he pulled Madison a little closer to him.
"This is my favorite movie."
"Great. This is a chick flick huh?"
Madison looked up at Nick batting her eyelashes, "No."
Nick rolled his eyes as he looked back at the TV as soon as the movie was starting.
"I love this movie," Madison said as she giggled a little.
"Oh god."
"Awe, can we rewind that and listen to it again?"
"No. What was so special about that?"
"The way he said baby he sounds so sexy. He’s a very sexy guy."
"Baby."
Madison looked at Nick strange while he made an enthusiastic face. "What?"
"How do I sound?"
"Like Nick."
"Do I sound sexy?"
Madison pressed her lips together trying real hard not to laugh. "Sure," She managed to say without bursting into laughter.
"Liar," Nick replied crossing his arms and pouting slightly.
"Oh you big baby," Madison said as she lightly hit him in the arm.
"You like him more than me," Nick said pouting even more.
"Oh shut up."
"He’s not even that good looking he’s really skinny. At least I have some meat on my bones something you can hold on to." Nick said sounding all macho, while he wiggled his eyebrows.
Madison started laughing.
"What?"
"Nothing," She replied as she leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the lips before she turned back to finish watching the movie.
Madison sniffled again and Nick looked over at her with a Kleenex up to her nose and tears slowly falling down her cheeks as they watched the end of the movie, he shook his head. He would never understand why girls cried at movies they weren’t real it didn’t really happen, so why cry about it?
"Stop laughing at me," Madison said as she sniffled again keeping her eyes on the TV.
"I’m not laughing at you sweetie," Nick said as he moved his around back around her shoulders.
"Yeah you are."
"Ok, I was."
Madison looked at Nick and gave him a dirty look then looked back at the TV as the closing credits came on. "Wasn’t that good?" Madison asked as she blew her nose one last time.
"No, not really," Nick replied honesty.
"How can you not like it?"
"Easy," Nick said shrugging.
Madison shook her head as she moved her feet to her side leaning into Nick’s chest more as he started flipping through the channels again.
"So do you have any nicknames that people actually use?"
"Huh?"
"Does anyone call you something other than Madison?"
"My mom calls me Maddy but I hate that and that’s basically it."
"I want to have a nickname for you."
Madison looked up at Nick and smiled, "You do?"
Nick looked down at her. "Yeah," He said softly.
Madison bit her bottom lip as she leaned up to kiss him gently.
"So? What should I call you?"
"I don’t know."
"Honey?"
"Too cliché."
"Sugar lips?"
"Too old sounding."
"Buttercup?"
"That’s a power puff girl."
Nick looked at her strangely, "Really?"
Madison started to laugh and shook her head yes.
"Alright, I can’t think of any others."
"Baby, you do have a way of saying baby," Madison said laughing lightly.
"Are you mocking me?"
"No," Madison replied innocently.
"Sure."
"Fine."
"I’ll have to think about it then."
Madison started laughing and said, "You do that then."
"I will. So are you hungry?" Nick asked as he rubbed his tummy a little.
"Kind of. I guess."
"Alright. You want to just order something?"
Madison shrugged and said, "That’s fine."
Nick smiled. "Alright," He replied as he kissed her forehead and then stood up and walked into the other room.
Madison leaned back on the couch sighing. She looked around the room and then leaned her head back looking at the ceiling as she smiled to herself.
