Chapter 37
Family Affair
Madison looked at Aaron then to Nick who smiled at her and the she looked back at Aaron. "Truthfully haven’t really thought about it much."
"What? How could you not? You are meeting the parents. That’s always stressful right? You want them to like you and they may not, you know all that good stuff."
"Hey Aaron how about you shut up," Nick said as he hit Aaron upside the head.
"You know I’m really getting tired of this abuse man. You are abusive," Aaron got closer to Madison and said, "better watch out."
"Aaron shut up, God."
"What?" Aaron asked innocently while Madison covered her mouth laughing.
"Are you nervous about meeting the parents?" Aaron asked as he popped his head in between the driver and passenger’s seats.
"Here we are," Nick said as they pulled into the driveway.
Madison stared wide eyed out the window as they approached the massive house. "I don’t think I’ve ever seen a house like this in my entire life."
"Really?" Aaron asked before he hopped out of the car.
"Ok, now I’m a little nervous," Madison said looking at Nick as he bit her bottom lip a little.
"Don’t be it’ll be okay I promise," Nick replied smiling reassuringly.
Madison looked at Nick and rolled her eyes, "Sure whatever you say."
"Come on," Nick said as he kissed her cheek and got out of the car.
"Yeah," Madison sighed as she got out of the car slowly meeting Nick on the other side.
Nick smiled at Madison and grabbed her hand as they walked up to the front door. Nick turned to look at her and asked, "You ready?"
Madison smiled and nodded.
Nick smiled back at her and opened the front door and walked into the house. "Hello? Anyone home?"
"Hi kids," Jane said as she walked into the room. She smiled brightly at them and immediately pulled Madison into a hug, shocking Madison. "It’s nice to finally meet you."
Jane pulled back and looked Madison over, "Thanks." Madison said feeling slightly uncomfortable.
"So you two are only staying two days right?" Jane asked looking between Nick and Madison.
"Yep, then we’re going home," Nick replied smiling as he moved his arm around Madison’s shoulders.
Jane smiled, "Well Madison I bet your tired Nick you should show her around upstairs she may want to take a nap."
"Alright." Nick said as they walked passed Jane and headed upstairs.
"Are you going to tell your mom that I’m moving in with you?" Madison asked Nick as she sat down on the bed in the guest room.
"Eventually, what about you are you going to tell your family?"
Madison grinned at Nick and said, "Eventually."
Nick sat down next to her grabbing her hand. "I just have to give her some time to get used to you and everything."
"It’s no big deal."
Nick grinned at Madison and then he leaned down to kiss her gently. Madison moved slightly as she put her arms around his neck and he started to deepen the kiss.
"Yo, Nick you wanna-."
Nick and Madison separated quickly and looked at Aaron.
"You two should lock the door you know," Aaron said smiling.
"Maybe you should learn how to knock."
Aaron shrugged and said, "Maybe."
"What do you want?" Nick asked crossing his arms.
"I wanted to know if you wanted to play some basketball with me."
Nick looked at Madison, "Were you going to take a nap?"
"Yeah."
"Ok, Aaron I’ll meet you downstairs in a minute."
Aaron grinned at Madison and Nick and then backed out of the room.
"He’s cute."
"He’s annoying," Nick whispered as he got closer to Madison.
"He’s going to look just like you," Madison replied with her lips inches from his.
"Poor thing," Nick said before he kissed Madison again.
"Ok, I’m going to go play with Aaron and you can take a nap. I’ll see you later," Nick said as he stood up and kissed Madison’s forehead.
Madison smiled as she stood up and kicked off her shoes.
"I’ll see you later," Nick said as he pointed at her and then walked out of the room closing the door behind him.
Madison sighed as she pulled back the comforter on the bed and then crawled under it. She pulled it up to her chin as she rolled onto her side putting one hand under the pillow and the other on the bed. She closed her eyes slowly, letting the much need sleep takeover her.
"You going to wake her up?" Aaron whispered as he stood next to Nick, staring at Madison sleep.
"No, I’m just going to let her sleep," Nick replied softly as he watched her sleep.
Aaron looked at Nick and then at Madison and then back at Nick. "You have the goofiest look on your face I’ve ever seen in my life."
Nick looked over at Aaron and glared at him.
"You love her why won’t you just tell her?"
Nick’s face softened and then he looked back at Madison, "Aaron you don’t know what you’re talking about."
"Yeah, that’s true I may not but I do have enough common sense to know that someone wouldn’t stand in the doorway of a room staring at someone sleep for almost twenty five minutes with no intention of waking them if they only liked them."
Nick looked at Aaron and stared at him a minute and then walked passed him to go back downstairs.
Aaron watched Nick looked downstairs and then he looked back at Madison shaking his head then walked downstairs.
"Madison still sleeping?" Jane asked as Nick walked into the dining room and sat down.
"Yeah, she’s been touring for a while so she’ll probably be out the rest of the night," Nick replied. He looked at him mom and everyone else at the table and then began to eat.
"Well, I’ll save her a plate in case she gets up later and is hungry," Jane said while Nick looked up and smiled at him mom.
"So when are BJ and Leslie getting home?"
"Should be next week sometime."
"So Nick what do you and Madison plan on doing when you get back to your house?" Nick’s dad asked.
"Uh, I don’t know relaxing."
"Unpacking." Aaron muttered.
"What did you say Aaron?" Jane asked as Nick looked at him wide eyed.
"Unpacking."
"What from all the traveling she’s done?" Jane asked.
Nick looked at him mom and said, "Yeah that’s it." He looked back at Aaron and then kicked him under the table.
"Night mom," Nick said as he gave him mother a kiss on the cheek.
"Night dear."
Nick headed up the stairs slowly he stopped in the doorway when he reached the guest room. He looked in to see Madison sleeping the light from the hallway shining in on her face lightly. He smiled as he walked into the room quietly. He stood next to the bed and then leaned down to kiss her forehead. He stood up straight and walked over to the door closing it and then walked over to the other side of the bed.
Nick stripped down to his boxers and then crawled under the covers. He scooted closer to Madison wrapping his arm around her and kissing her cheek before he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
