Chapter 32
My Confession
“You’re chocking me Tony.” Madison said softly.
Tony laughed and said, “Sorry girlie.” He sat up and sat on the end of the couch facing her smiling.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Madison asked looking at him oddly.
“Because you’re in love with him and that’s just great.” Tony replied grinning.
“You’re a nerd.”
“Shut up. I’m happy for you.”
Madison smiled. “Alright.” She replied as she turned back facing the TV.
Tony giggled again clapping his hands quietly as he turned back facing the TV as well to finish watching the movie.
Tony giggled as he jumped up from the floor and fell on top of Madison hugging her. “This is too cute.” He said as he tried to get up.
Nick quietly walked into Madison’s hotel room closing the door behind him. He set his bag down on the floor and kicked his shoes off as he walked into the bedroom. He leaned against the door frame and watched her sleep. He walked over to the side of the bed slowly and stripped down to his boxers and then slowly laid down next to her under the covers, he put one of his hands underneath the pillow and then he put the other around Madison with his hand resting on her stomach. He moved a little closer to her as he closed his eyes; he took in a breath and could smell the apple scented shampoo she used. He smiled to himself as he took another deep breath before he relaxed more and fell asleep.
Madison felt something on her stomach and side but brushed it off as she rolled over onto her side. She laid there a second and she could feel the presence of someone else. Scared, she slowly opened her eyes to see Nick lying next to her sleeping peacefully. Madison closed her eyes and opened them and still saw Nick, she thought she was seeing things at first. She reached out and pushed a piece of his hair out of his face. Definitely not seeing things, he was really there. She laughed at herself as she snuggled up closer to his chest.
“Hey.” Nick whispered his voice hoarse.
Madison looked up at Nick smiling. “Hi, what are you doing here?”
“Came to surprise you.” Nick replied as he kissed her forehead.
Madison smiled and gave him a quick kiss. “How long?”
“A while, I’m off for a while. Because we were supposed to start recording again but they decided to push it back again. So I’m free baby.”
“Good.” Madison replied wrapping her arm around his waist as she pulled herself as close to him as she could get.
“But you’re going to Europe.”
“Only a month.”
“Then you have a break right?”
Madison nodded.
“So we’ll have some time for ourselves.”
“Are you going to come with us?”
“I figured I’d spend it with Aaron.”
“That’s cool.”
“I missed you.” Nick whispered as he played with her hair.
Madison looked up at him and smiled genuinely at him. “You need a haircut really bad.”
Nick laughed as he ran his hand through his hair.
“I’m serious that’s bad. Tony was surfing some message boards about you and they were talking about how long your hair is getting. I’ll cut it for you but damn you really need to cut it.”
“That bad huh?”
“Have you looked in the mirror lately?”
Nick laughed and leaned down kissing Madison passionately.
“I’m serious.” Madison said softly as they separated.
“Ok.” Nick replied as he moved onto his back, yawning.
“Yeah, I’m going back to sleep.” Madison said while Nick nodded closing his eyes.
“Want to order some food?” Nick asked later that day as they sat on the couch cuddling.
“Uh, sure. Oh you can see our new video today. We finished it late late last night. I think Tony said at four we were going over to watch it.”
“That’s cool what’s the song?”
“Grow up.”
“Cool.” Nick replied as Tony walked into the room with Todd close behind.
“Hello love birds.” Tony said as he sat down on the other end of the couch.
“Hey.” Madison replied as her eyes stayed on the TV.
“Nick what’s up man?” Tony asked trying to sound real manly.
Nick looked over at Tony and laughed. “Not much yo.”
“Tight.” He replied while they all started laughing at him. He looked at all of them and asked, “What are you laughing at?”
“Trying to be ghetto Tony?” Madison asked laughing.
“No.”
“Uh huh.” Madison replied sarcastically.
“Just trying to do some male bonding with Nick here.”
“Yep that’s it huh?” Madison replied looking at Tony.
“So Madison don’t you have something to tell Nick?”
Madison looked at Tony with wide eyes. “No.”
“You have something to tell me?” Nick asked pushing Madison’s hair out of her face.
“Yeah she does. Don’t let her forget. Now come on we’re going to go see the video.”
“I thought that was at four.”
“Four? Where the hell did you get that?”
“Never mind.” Madison replied as she stood up and walked into the bedroom.
“Are we seriously having this conversation?” Madison asked Nick on the way back from watching their new video.
“No, you started it.”
“What are you 12?”
“I just said that you looked a little slutty in that outfit.”
“That’s not all you said. You said that and that I should have known better. And there was something else but it’s slipped my mind, give me a minute and I’m sure I can think of it.”
Nick sighed as he leaned back in the seat crossing his arms.
“You really don’t have any right to get mad.”
“I think I do. I really don’t want my girlfriend walking around like that.”
“I don’t walk around like that. It was a damn video.”
“Whatever. I’m tired of talking about it.”
“Well you shouldn’t have brought it up.”
“You shouldn’t have worn that outfit.”
Madison shook her head sighing as she leaned her head against the window. “Look I’m sorry.” Madison said softly putting her hand on Nick’s leg.
Nick looked over at her and just nodded and then looked back out the window. Madison sighed heavily and leaned her head back on the window with her hand still on Nick’s leg.
“I really am sorry about earlier.” Madison said as she lazily drew circles on Nick’s chest while they lay in the bed that night.
“It’s cool, just forget about it.”
“Ok.” Madison replied softly.
“That feels really good.” Nick said as he ran his fingers up and down her back slowly.
Madison smiled up at him and then laid her head back down. “Nick?”
“Hmm?”
Madison looked up at him briefly noticing he was about to fall asleep. She smiled and said, “I have something I want to tell you.”
“Yeah?” Nick asked as he opened his eyes looking at her.
“But I don’t know how to really say it.”
Nick looked at her confused and asked, “What is it sweetie?”
Madison laid her head back down she figured it would be a little easier if she wasn’t looking at him when she told him. “Uh… I love you.” She said quietly.
“What?” Nick asked somewhat shocked and he wasn’t sure he had heard her right.
Madison sat up and looked at him. “It’s ok you don’t have to say it back if you don’t feel the same. I was expecting you not to anyway. But I just wanted to tell you that I love you.”
“Wow, wasn’t expecting that.”
“You don’t have to say anything back.”
“I’m sorry I don’t feel the same. I mean I care about you, a lot but I’m just not to that point.”
Madison tried her hardest not to show how disappointed she was. “It’s ok.” She said smiling as she laid her head back down and continued to draw circles on his chest before she finally fell asleep.
