It'll Be Okay

Chapter 28

Maybe It Was All A Mistake

"Say what?" Madison asked looking up at Tony.

"That word. I know you were going to say that damn word and you shouldn’t even think it." Tony replied pointing at her still.

"What word?"

"You know what word." Tony replied as he crossed his arms.

Madison sighed as she started to play with her hands again.

"Tony!"

Tony turned around to see Todd running into Madison’s room. Madison rolled her eyes and leaned back against the headboard of the bed as Todd frolicked into the bedroom. "What’s wrong?" Tony asked.

"Nothing too important babe, just I got out of the shower and you weren’t there I was scared." Todd said as he stood against the wall.

"Awe." Tony replied as he got up and hugged Todd.

Madison looked at the two of them appalled. That was just ridiculous.

"Madison we’ll finish this later." Tony said wrapping his arm about Todd’s waist as they walked out.

"Yeah sure whatever, no problem here." Madison replied sarcastically as she leaned her head back closing her eyes.

"Madison, get up."

Madison groaned as she laid on her stomach with a pillow over her head.

"Madison get up from that bed this instant."

Madison sat up slowly glaring at her mother. "What?"

"We’re going for lunch. Tell me what room that friend of yours is in so I can tell him to get ready as well."

"Nick stayed in this room mom and he left."

Madison pressed her lips together as she watched her mother’s reaction, she could have sworn that her eyes popped out of their sockets. "What did you say?"

"He left?"

"Before that."

"Uh…"

"He slept in the same bed as you? Do you have any respect for yourself?"

Madison sighed as she stood up. "I’m going to shower."

"I can’t believe you."

"Give me five minutes." Madison mumbled as she walked into the bathroom.

"We are going to the restaurant in five minutes." Her mother said knocking on the bathroom door.

"I just got in here." Madison yelled from inside the bathroom.

"We’ll hurry up we are all hungry out here."

Madison stared at herself in the mirror as she put her hair in a messy ponytail. She tied her pajama pants a little tighter and adjusted her tank top then she walked out of the bathroom. "Happy?" She asked as she walked passed her mother into the main part of the hotel room.

"Yes, actually we are. We are hungry."

Madison walked over to the door and said, "Well let’s not keep your empty stomachs waiting."

"There is no need for that attitude young lady." Her mother replied while her sister walked behind her snickering.

Madison glared at the both of them and walked out of the door.

"Yo, Nick what are you doing back so soon? What happened to visiting your new girl?" Mike asked as Nick walked into his hotel room.

Nick walked passed Mike straight into the bedroom, he hoped Mike wasn’t using.

Mike watched Nick walk into the bedroom and stared at the door oddly after he closed it. Mike stood up and walked over and into the bedroom. "She dump you?" He asked putting his hands on his hips.

Nick turned around and looked at Mike and shook his head. "No."

"Then what happened? Why are you back so early?"

"What does it matter? Did you have big plans or something?"

Mike scratched his chin and said, "No."

"Sure whatever." Nick replied laughing slightly.

"So what happened?"

"Nothing happened, I’m just rethinking it." Nick said as he walked into the bathroom.

"So why did Nick leave?" Carly asked Madison as they sat in the restaurant eating.

"Madison why aren’t you eating? You’re not going to waste that food."

"Why did Nick leave?" Carly asked again.

Madison propped her head up with her hand and stared off into space, ignoring everyone that was around.

"Madison, eat that." Her mother said hitting her arm slightly.

"Mom, you’re leaving after the show right?" Madison asked glaring at her mother.

Her mom smiled at her and said, "Yes we are and you should come with us."

"Yes." Her father said quietly as he nodded.

"Mom, I have shows to do. We are on a tour."

Her mom shook her head sighing as she continued to eat.

"I want to go out. Let’s go out." Nick said as he sat on the couch next to Mike.

"Ok…" Mike replied looking at Nick suspiciously.

"I just have to make a call real quick." Nick said as he got up.

"Calling your girl?"

"Actually yeah." Nick said as he walked into the bedroom.

Mike shrugged as he continued watching TV. He sat there a minute and then lifted up his arms and smelt his armpits to make sure he smelled ok and then looked at his watch.

"Ok let’s go."

"You do realize it’s only six o’clock."

Nick shrugged and replied, "Oh well, I want to go out."

"Alright whatever you say yo." Mike replied following him out of the room.

Madison sat backstage after the show playing her guitar avoiding her mother because she knew saying good bye to her was going to be hell. She knew that her mother would try anything and everything to get her into the car and Madison just didn’t have that kind of strength to deal with that.

Madison set her guitar down on the couch next to her and picked up her cell phone turning it on. She waited for the welcome message to see if she had any voicemail, because she had it off all day, and there was one.

She put the phone up to her ear and started to listen to the message, "Hey Madison its Nick. Um…I don’t know how to say this. I don’t even know if I really want to. But I don’t know if this- me and you is going to work out. I think I might have made a mistake. I’m sorry. I’ll call you later, so maybe we can talk or whatever, or if you want to call me."

Madison pushed the button to listen to the message again and listened to it again. She had to make sure she wasn’t hearing things. He sounded so monotone and emotionless. She set her phone down and leaned back on the couch when her mother walked in the room.

"There you are. I’ve been looking for you. We are getting ready to leave."

"Ok, bye." Madison said quickly as she looked over at her mother briefly.

"What kind of good bye is that?" She asked putting her hands on her hips.

Madison sighed as she stood up and staggered over to her mother. "Bye mom." She said softly as she hugged her mom.

"Bye Maddy dear… I wish you would come with us. I love you." Her mother said kissing her forehead and then she walked out of the room while Madison sighed as she looked around the room and then flopped back down on the couch.

"Hey Nick you think you might want to slow down with those drinks?" Mike asked Nick, later that night in the club, as he watched him take a few more shots with the girl next to him.

Nick looked over at Mike and shook his head no and then he turned back to the girl putting his hands on either side of her face and kissed her roughly.

"Damn, Nick what are you doing?" Mike yelled at Nick over the booming music.

Nick ignored Mike and continued to kiss the girl. They pulled away from each other and Mike could see Nick say something to the girl and she smiled at him. Mike watched them stand up and walk out of the club but he just sat there, knowing that it probably wasn’t a good thing for Nick to do but he was to busy watching the blonde giving him a lap dance.

"Uh, don’t you have a girlfriend?" The girl asked Nick giggling a little, in the backseat of the car.

Nick looked over at her and shook his head grinning at her.

"Alright." She replied as she moved closer to him kissing him intensely.

They got back to the hotel and went straight for the elevators. In the elevator the girl practically attacked Nick as they rode up to his floor. Once they got to his floor Nick grabbed her hand and led her to his room. He let her go in first and then closed the door with his foot as he pushed up against the wall and started kissing her profoundly.
