Chapter 27
Leaving
"Nick?" Madison asked into the darkness of the room as she emerged from the bathroom. She quietly walked over to the bed to see him lying on his stomach, one hand above the pillow and the other to his side, sleeping. She smiled as she leaned against the wall watching him. And she couldn’t ignore the funny feeling arising in her stomach while she watched him. Sighing, she walked over to her suitcase and grabbed her pajamas and walked back into the bathroom to change.
Madison walked out of the bathroom in her pajamas and quietly made her way over to the bed. She slipped in underneath the covers moving Nick’s arm that was sprawled out to his side as well, she tried to move it back to his side after she got situated but he moved it back onto her stomach. She shrugged it off closing her eyes trying to go to sleep. She opened her eyes sighing and then rolled over facing Nick and stared at him for a minute. "Night Nick." She whispered softly as she closed her eyes again.
Madison rolled over again sighing as she tried to get comfortable. She wasn’t tired. She laid on her back staring at the ceiling, thoughts of what had happened earlier that night were running through her mind. She could still feel his lips on hers and what it felt like to have him being so close to her. She smiled at the thought as she closed her eyes again forcing sleep upon herself.
Madison groaned angrily at the cell phone that was ringing continuously. She pulled her pillow over her head to drown out the sound; she knew it wasn’t hers so why wasn’t Nick getting up to answer his damn phone. Madison sat up quickly grinning when she heard it stop and then groaned when it began to ring again. She flopped back down onto the bed and started to lazily push Nick to wake him up. "Nick." She said as she pushed him over and over again.
"Fucking stop!" He snapped at her from underneath the cover.
"Get your damn phone." Madison snapped back.
Nick sighed heavily and then sat up slightly and leaned down to grab his phone off the floor. He mumbled somewhat of a hello into the phone as he laid back down.
Madison slowly closed her eyes as she pulled the cover up to her shoulders.
"What? That’s fucked up, why didn’t you tell me that earlier?" Nick snapped angrily into the phone.
Madison opened her eyes slowly as she listened to the one sided conversation.
"Fuck!" Nick said as he threw his phone back on the floor.
"Problems?" Madison asked softly.
Nick cut his eyes over to Madison and glared at her.
"What the hell is your problem?"
"You." Nick said as he sat up swinging his legs on the side of the bed.
"What did I do?"
"It’s more like what you didn’t do." Nick replied rubbing his hands over his face.
"Are you referring to last night?" Madison asked sitting up.
"Yeah, you’re a fucking tease."
"I am not."
"Bullshit. You knew what was going on."
"Nick, I’m sorry."
"Just drop it."
"So, you’re mad at me because I told you to stop?" Madison asked confused.
"I’m not mad at you just frustrated." Nick replied as he stood up stretching.
"I’m sorry. I just didn’t feel right." Madison said softly as she picked at her nails.
"Yeah, ok. Well I have to go there are some things that came up that I have to go and do."
"What? You’re leaving?" Madison asked looking up at Nick sadly.
Nick looked at Madison and nodded before he walked into the bathroom.
"Well isn’t that just great." Madison said to herself as she laid back down sighing heavily.
Madison leaned against the headboard and stared at the bathroom door willing it to open, before she threw up in the trash can. She had been lying there the whole time Nick was in the bathroom getting ready and she had been making herself sick, because she knew he was frustrated with her. So she had to get rid of any food left in her stomach, it’d make her feel better or so she thought.
Five minutes later Nick finally came out of the bathroom dressed and ready to leave. Madison jumped up off the bed pushing passed Nick as she ran into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her. Nick looked back at the door confused and then leaned against it trying to listen to what was going on and he could hear her throwing up.
"Gross." Nick said as he stepped back from the door disgusted. He walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge propping his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands as he waited for her to get out.
"Madison?" Nick asked as he knocked on the door lightly a few minutes later when he realized it was rather quiet in the bathroom.
Madison sat on the bathroom trying to catch her breath and get her voice back. Her throat burned as silently cried, knowing Nick was right outside the door. Shouldn’t be gone by now? Madison didn’t want to go out there and face him. What was she going to say? She was embarrassed. She had never done that while anyone else was around but she couldn’t help it, she was upset that Nick was angry with her. Even though she knew it was ridiculous for him to be mad at her.
"Madison?" Nick asked quietly as he popped his head from behind the door.
Madison looked up at him and immediately wiped her tears as she stood up. "What?"
"I was just seeing if you were ok." Nick said in a monotone voice.
"Yeah, I’m fine." Madison replied softly as she looked down at the floor.
Nick stood up straight and said, "Ok well I have to go."
"Fine. Bye."
"Yeah, bye." Nick replied and then walked off and out of the hotel room.
"Bye." Madison whispered as she walked out of the bathroom and over to the bed. She closed her eyes as she laid down on her side.
Madison curled up into a ball on the side of the right when Tony busted into the hotel room squealing and giggling. He ran into the bedroom and started jumping on the bed. "Madison!"
"What?" Madison mumbled.
Tony kneeled down beside her and got in her face grinning. "Todd told me he loved me."
Madison’s eyes snapped open and she looked at Tony like he was crazy. "Are you serious?"
Tony grinned even bigger and nodded furiously.
"Cool." Madison replied softly as she closed her eyes again.
"What’s wrong?" Tony asked and then looked around. "Where’s your lover?"
"He had to go."
"Oh, is that why you’re sad?"
Madison shrugged.
Tony pulled on Madison’s shoulders to make her sit up. "Tell me." He said looking her directly in the eyes.
"I kind of got sick in front of him for one. And that’s hella embarrassing and then last night we were kind of… fooling around I guess and well I wasn’t feeling comfortable at all and I told him to stop and then he got mad. And he left mad."
"Seriously?"
Madison nodded as she looked down.
"That’s shitty. Fuck him. Why would he get mad? You know what fuck him. You can do better than him I’m positive of that darling."
Madison continued to look down as she played with her hands.
"What?"
Madison looked up at Tony slowly and said, "I have feelings for him. I think I may…"
"Don’t even think about saying what I think you're going to say." Tony said looking at her sternly as he pointed his finer at her.
