Chapter 26
Insensitive
"Are you sure you’re alright?" Nick asked on their way to the club.
Madison nodded.
"Oh Todd you’re so funny." Tony said giggling from the backseat.
Madison rolled her eyes and leaned into Nick a little more.
"Make you sick?" Nick asked her quietly.
She shook her head pouting somewhat. "He’s taking my best friend away from me."
"No he’s not."
"Yes he is Tony has only talked to me before and after a show and that’s it. Then he’s with Todd."
"So you are jealous?"
"Yep."
"Don’t you think that’s a little childish?" Nick asked cocking an eyebrow.
Madison looked up at Nick pouting still and replied, "Nope."
Nick laughed and said, "Ok whatever you say."
Madison mocked Nick and then laid her head back down. Nick shook his head at Madison and laughed as he looked straight ahead.
"You are wearing that?" Madison’s mom asked as Madison walked out in her outfit.
Madison looked down at what she was wearing and said, "Yes."
"Don’t you think you should wear something a little less revealing?"
"Mom it’s not showing anything."
"I can see your stomach."
Madison sighed and said, "Mom it’s like an inch of my stomach if that."
"Well it’s trashy."
"Mom, it is not."
"Ok fine if you want to look like a slut that’s fine."
Madison rolled her eyes as she looked in the mirror fixing her top.
"You look a little fat in those pants too." Carly pointed out.
Madison turned around glaring at her sister and then quickly walked passed everyone in the room and walked out slamming the door.
"What’s her problem?" Carly asked as she looked around the room.
"I was just trying to give her some motherly advice." Her mother said shrugging.
Madison walked onto the stage and over to her guitar that was sitting on it’s stand. She put it on as she looked out at the crowd smiling. She fixed her microphone a little when Shane started to play the drums to the first song.
"We’re doing the song list a little different tonight we’re starting with something a little slow first. Something our little Madison here wrote all by herself." Tony said as they all started playing.
Madison cut her eyes over to the side of the stage to see her mother standing there with her arms folded across her chest. She looked back at the audience and started singing.
Sometimes this house feels
Like a prison
That I just can’t leave behind
There’s so many rules
I got to follow
Cuz you can’t let go
I don’t wanna hear it
And I just can’t believe it
All the stupid things
You say but
One day
I won’t take it anymore
One day
I’ll be old enough
To do what I want to
I won’t have to run away
And you won’t be there to
Say I’m not allowed to
One day
Sometimes I wonder
If you know me
Or if you just pretend to care
Tell me are you on a mission
To bring me down?
Go away
Don’t look at me
Cuz we’re not the same
And you can’t do nothing
You can say
That’s it’s not okay
But I’m not afraid
And you can’t do nothing
Nanana…One day
"Has your mom always been like that?" Nick asked Madison as they laid on the bed in her hotel room.
"Yeah, she thinks she’s helping but she’s really not."
"Is that why you left?" Nick asked as he played with her hair.
Madison looked down and nodded slowly.
"Did I tell you that you guys did really good tonight?"
Madison shook her head no.
"Well you did amazing. You were amazing. I don’t think I could ever get tired of seeing you perform."
Madison laughed lightly and replied, "Thanks. My mom sure didn’t think so. She said we weren’t playing music it was just noise and she hated my outfit. And she was asking me about the first song we did. She's like I know that's about me. I was like whatever. It really didn’t surprise me at all."
"Have you ever said anything to her?"
"She doesn’t hear what I say. She doesn’t care about what I have to say. Don’t get me wrong she loves me but she’s just totally oblivious to everyone around her. And she doesn’t notice the things she says."
"How does your dad put up with it?"
"You saw him today he doesn’t say anything. He stays quiet and doesn’t put his two cents in and that keeps him off the couch."
"What about your sister?"
"My mom is the same with her but not as bad because she is doing what my mom wants so she’s more the favorite. But enough about that."
Nick laughed quietly and leaned in to kiss Madison slowly. Madison started to kiss him back as she moved closer to him. Nick put his hand on her hip and slowly started moving his hand up.
Madison pulled back a little as Nick moved on top of her and started kissing her neck. She put her arms around his neck and moved his head back over to her so she could kiss him again. Nick took her hands in his and moved them up by her head as he entwined their fingers.
They separated breathless, Nick grinned at Madison and she smiled back as he started kissing her neck again and then he started to move a little lower and then back up to her lips again. Madison kissed him again as he rested most of his weight on her and she could feel how hard he was getting and she panicked.
"What’s wrong?" Nick asked her his voice slightly hoarse.
"Uh… nothing." Madison replied.
"Are you sure?" Nick asked sitting up.
Madison bit her lip and looked around the room for a second and then back at Nick. "Yeah everything’s fine." She said smiling slightly.
"Ok." Nick replied looking at her oddly.
He sat like that for a minute and then leaned back down kissing her intensely. He started to move his right hand up her shirt slowly. He reached the bottom of her bra and lightly ran his finger across the skin below it. Madison started to fidget a little and pull back from kissing Nick but it wasn’t working.
Nick slowly moved his hand over her breast massaging it lightly as he started kissing Madison’s neck. Madison pushed on Nick’s shoulders to get him to stop.
"What?"
"I uh…"
"What?"
"I um… can’t… I have to go to the bathroom."
"What are you fucking serious?"
"I feel sick."
"I don’t believe you."
"I do. Why would I lie?"
"I don’t know." Nick replied as he rolled off her.
Madison jumped up and started to quickly make her way to the bathroom.
"It’s pretty shitty though you get me all worked up and then back down. What the fuck am I supposed to do now?"
"It’s not my fault."
"Yes it is."
Madison sighed heavily and walked into the bathroom slamming the door. She leaned up against the door and closed her eyes. "No." She whispered. "No, see how hard was that you dumbass? What was I thinking? I have to go to the bathroom? I’m so stupid." She said to herself quietly as she looked at herself in the mirror.
