Chapter 24
Surprise!
"You sure you want to do this man?"
Nick looked at Mike strangely and then continued to pack his clothes, later that night. "Yeah dude she sounded so depressed and upset on the phone. I want to surprise her and make her happy." Nick replied smiling to himself.
"What makes you so sure you can make her happy?" Mike asked cocking an eyebrow.
"She told me." Nick replied shrugging.
"So is this all real or are you just trying to get into her pants? Or are you really trying to prove me wrong?"
Nick stood up and looked at Mike and thought about his answer carefully before he said anything. "It’s real. It’s definitely real." Nick retorted smiling.
"So you really like her?"
"Yeah." Nick said confidently.
"Interesting."
"What?"
"I wouldn’t have thought it could happen."
"Why?" Nick asked confused.
"Because you aren’t a relationship type of guy these days."
Nick put his hand on his hips and said, "Maybe I’m changing? Growing up a little or something. Maturing."
"Whatever." Mike replied shrugging as he walked out of the room.
Nick glared at him as he walked out of the room and stood there thinking about what he said. Then he went back to packing his clothes.
"So you’re family is coming to the shows?" Shane asked Madison on their way to Cleveland.
Madison groaned and said, "Yeah unfortunately all of them are coming. My sister Carly, her two brat twins Melissa and Tommy and my parents."
"Not that excited are you?"
"Not really."
"Why not?"
"I’m just not in the mood for a lecture about how I’m not living the ‘godly’ life. And I really don’t want to hear my mom complain about- basically everything."
"It’ll be okay." Shane said as he rubbed her back a little.
"What time are they coming?" Tony asked from the seat across from Madison.
"Early, like two hours after we get into the hotel."
"Seriously?"
"Uh yeah, so I just told them I’d leave the door unlocked they can just walk in because I figured I’d be asleep."
"Aren’t they getting a room?"
"Yeah, but they have to see me." Madison replied rolling her eyes.
"Is your sister married?" Shane asked curiously.
"She was but her husband- a total ass he used to hit her sometimes for stupid shit too- he died in a car accident like three months ago or maybe five. I don’t know and frankly I don’t really care."
"You didn’t like him I take it?"
"No he was an asshole he made me feel like shit all the time." Madison replied as the bus pulled up to the hotel.
"Another hotel in the middle of the night." Shane said as she stretched after he got out of the van.
"It’s five in the morning." Jake muttered as they got off the bus.
"Great my family is going to be here at seven." Madison whined as she walked in the hotel behind Tony and Todd.
"Madison! Madison can I get your autograph!"
Madison looked around and then at the three girls walking over to her from the elevators. "What are they doing up so early?"
"Hard core fans that know where we are all the time?" Shane asked shrugging.
"Hi." Madison said politely as the girls approached her.
"Can I have your autograph?" The shorter girl of the three asked excitedly.
"Sure." Madison replied as she took the piece of paper and then walked over to a nearby table to sign the paper on.
"I don’t believe she’s fucking Nick, he could do so much better. She’s not even that pretty." Madison heard one of the girls behind her.
"I think she is." The other girl retorted.
"She doesn’t have that flat of a stomach she could work out a little."
Madison swallowed the lump that was rising in her throat and quickly finished signing the paper and turned around. "Here you go." Madison said smiling at the girl.
"Thank you so much. I love you I think you are so awesome."
"Thanks, I have to go now. Bye." Madison replied smiling and then quickly walked off.
"Here’s your key Madison." Shane said as he handed her the key to her room.
"Thanks." Madison mumbled as they got onto the elevator.
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah."
"Positive?"
"Yeah I’m fine." Madison replied smiling reassuringly as they got off the elevator.
"Ok." Shane replied as they stopped at Madison’s door. "See you later." He said and then walked down to his room.
Madison walked into her room and quickly ran into the bathroom. She fell to her knees in front of the toilet and started crying as she tried to make herself throw up but she hadn’t even ate anything so there was nothing to throw up. She was basically just coughing and dry heaving as she continued to cry.
Madison leaned back and sat Indian style on the floor as she wiped her tears away. She shook her head trying to rid herself of the tears that still continued to fall. She was frustrated; why should she care what those girls had to say? Why was she punishing herself because of their opinions?
"Because I want everyone to like me." Madison said softly to herself as she slowly got up from the floor and walked over to the bed flopping down face first.
Madison slowly opened her eyes quickly adjusting to the light that shone through the curtains onto her face. She started to slowly close her eyes again when she heard the repetitive knocking; she laughed and realized that’s what woke her up in the first place. Groaning she slowly got out of the bed noticing she was still in her jeans and t-shirt. She staggered into the main part of the room and finally made it over to the door opening it slowly as she yawned.
She stood there shocked to see Nick standing there. She stared at him while he laughed nervously.
"Hey."
Madison smiled and fell into his arms hugging him. Taken aback Nick just stood there for a second and then wrapped his arms around her hugging her back. "Nice to see you too." He said laughing as they separated.
"You have no idea." Madison said as she grabbed his hand pulling him into the room as he closed the door.
"Another bad day?" Nick asked as his hands rested lightly on her waist.
"You could say that."
"Well now I’m here to make it all better."
Madison smiled at him and replied, "How are you here? Don’t you have a few more shows to do?"
"Nope the next on is next week."
"So how long are you here for?"
"Until that show."
Madison’s face lit up. "Are you serious?" She asked grinning.
Nick nodded as he leaned in kissing her gently, slowly deepening it to a more intense kiss. Madison moved her arms around his neck and pulled herself closer to him as her fingers played in his hair.
Nick slowly moved his hands up her body to her face and cupped her cheeks with his hands as he deepened the kiss even more.
Madison pulled back slightly her face flushed.
"Sorry." Nick whispered as he ran his fingers through her hair.
Madison smiled and shook her head slightly as he leaned back in to kiss her again. Madison moaned quietly when Nick started moving his hand up and down her back slowly.
"Madison!"
Madison jumped back away from Nick and stared at her mother and the rest of her family standing there in the doorway of her room.
"Hey mom." Madison said as she smiled innocently at her mom and then cut her eyes over to Nick and then back at her mom who didn’t look too happy.
