It'll Be Okay

Chapter 20

Reality Bites

Madison slowly opened her eyes and surveyed her surroundings she stretched her arms out next to her and frowned when she found the space next to her empty. She sat up rubbing her hands over her face and then looked around the room. Her eyes landed on the empty spot next to her and she saw a piece of paper on the pillow. She smiled as she picked it up and started reading it.

Madison,

I’m sorry I had to go; I had to get up early this morning. I kind of pissed some people off when I up and left to go to your party last night. Oh well they’ll get over it.

I wish I could have at least said goodbye before I left, but you looked so peaceful and angelic sleeping I couldn’t bring myself to actually wake you up. So, I’ll call you later. Bye.

Nick

Madison smiled as she read the note again. "Why am I reading this again?" She asked herself as she set it down and got off the bed stretching. "That boy is definitely doing something to me. I’ve never been so aggressive in my life." She mumbled as she made her way into the bathroom.

"MADISON!" Tony yelled as he banged on the hotel door.

Madison walked out of the bathroom putting her hair back into a ponytail as she walked to the door. "Yes, my dear?" She asked sweetly as she stood in front of the door.

"Let me in!" Tony whined.

Madison laughed she could picture Tony stomping his feet while he whined. "Hold on a second." She said as she unlocked the door and then opened it letting him in.

Tony walked into the room quickly and flopped down onto the couch crossing his arms. "Details." He demanded.

"What are you talking about?"

"Shane saw Nicky poo leave your hotel room late last night, very late. We’re talking early morning late. So I demand details damn it."

Madison bit her bottom lip as she walked over to sit next to Tony.

"So?" Tony asked getting impatient.

"Well, we’re together." Madison said smiling.

"And what was he doing here so late?" Tony asked cocking an eyebrow.

Madison shrugged and said, "Nothing we just talked and then I fell asleep."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Damn that sucks."

"What?" Madison asked looking at him weird.

"You two are boring."

Madison hit Tony in the arm and said, "Shut up. You are so mean."

Tony rolled his eyes as he sat back on the couch putting his feet up on the table in front of couch.

"I really like him he’s not what I thought."

"That’s good." Tony said smiling.

Madison nodded as she leaned back crossing her arms.

"You should get ready we have to met John in an hour."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah we find out about our tour."

"Yeah." Madison replied as she jumped up and went into the bathroom.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So you guys are going to go on tour but it’s just you guys. You’ll be playing clubs and small venues for now at least."
"When do we start?"
"Two weeks will be the start of the tour."
"That early? What about tickets and shit?" Jake asked as he sat up straight in his chair.
"They are all general admission. But until then you guys have an appearance every day. You are going back to TRL to perform this time. Then Jay Leno, David Letterman, and then Conan. There are a few radio station things going on you’ve been invited to play at. Then we’re going to do all the things we missed before, especially the European shows. So you guys are going to be busy for the next few months."
"Damn." Tony said sighing as he leaned back in his chair.
"One more thing, your sales are in for yesterday all of them and the grand total is 650, 550."
"Is that good?" Madison asked curiously.
"Yeah, it’s pretty good for first day sales with a debut album."
Madison nodded as she sat back crossing her arms.
"And I have one last thing Madison."
"What?"
"This is just a suggestion."
"Ok?"
"I don’t think you should see Nick Carter anymore."
"Why?"
"Well, because the tabloids are already having fun with it." John replied as he held up a tabloid and then handed it to her.
"This is from last night." Madison said as she stared at the picture of her and Nick kissing.
"Yeah, so I suggest that you stop seeing him or if you continue to see him make it secret."
"This is shit, why do they care about my personal life?"
"Look who you’re with, they don’t care about you they care about him." John said honestly.
"That was harsh." Tony muttered under his breath.
"I’m not trying to be mean. I’m just trying to let you know suggest some things for your one good."
Madison sighed as she threw the paper back on the table.
"What are you going to do?" Tony asked rubbing her arm.
"I don’t know." Madison replied shrugging.
"It shouldn’t matter." Shane said as everyone looked at him. "Seriously, it shouldn’t matter who’s dating who."
"Yeah, it shouldn’t but somehow it does." Madison replied rolling her eyes.
"Are we done?" Tony asked as he looked at John.
"Oh yeah, that’s all. Tomorrow six o’clock our flight to Florida."
"Florida?"
"Yeah, there is a radio station event going on you guys were invited. Then we come back her for all the shows. Sorry, I forgot about that."
Madison sighed heavily as she got up and walked out of the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"You’re just going to have to be more careful when you guys are together." Tony said to Madison in the elevator.

"Yeah that’s the thing when am I going to even see him again?" Madison asked as she leaned back against the wall closing her eyes.

"Believe me I’m sure he’ll find a way. He looked so smitten last night." Tony said grinning.

Madison looked at Tony curiously. "You think?"

"Oh definitely my dear."

"I think you’re full of it." Madison said as they walked off the elevator.

"See you in the morning bright and early girlie." Tony said as he winked at her.

Madison rolled her eyes as she walked into her room grabbing her cell phone on her way to the bedroom.

She dialed her voicemail and then she flopped down on the bed staring at the ceiling as she listened to Nick’s three messages, with a smile on her face.

"Hello?" Nick asked cheerfully into his cell phone.

"You sound happy."

"I am now that I’m talking to you."

"Oh, cheesy." Madison replied laughing.

"Oh, bruising the ego."

"You’ll be fine it’s big enough."

"Hey!" Nick replied sounding hurt.

"So we’re going on tour by ourselves in clubs and small venues kind of like you."

"That’s cool how long?"

"The rest of the year." Madison replied sighing.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, pretty shitty huh?"

"Kind of when am I going to be able to see you again?"

"Who knows."

"Damn, after I’m done touring which is the end of this month. I’m going back into the studio with the guys."

"I’m sure we’ll figure something out."

"Yeah." Nick said softly.

"But if I take the advice of John we wouldn’t have to worry about figuring something out."

"What advice?"

"Well the tabloids are totally having a field day with us you know and well he told me no he said suggested that we stop seeing each other. For my own good."

"What?"

"Yeah, it’s shitty. I don’t understand why it’s so damn important to these people."

"I’m sorry."

"It’s not your fault."

"Does it bother you?"

"Yeah, I’m not exactly cut out for all this media stuff."

"So are you taking his advice then?"

Madison sat on the other end of the phone in silence.

"Madison? Are you?"
