Chapter 21
What to Do?
"Madison?"
"No." Madison replied hesitantly.
"You don’t sound so sure."
"Well, I’m not all that sure if I can handle it. I’m not cut out for this Nick. You have no idea how bad I handle things like this."
"So what are you saying?"
"I don’t know. I’m just very insecure."
"Everyone is insecure about something."
"Yeah, I know."
"So?"
"So?"
Nick laughed lightly and said, "Not the answer I was hoping for."
"I’m sorry." Madison replied softly.
"You don’t have to apologize."
"I’m sorry."
Nick started to laugh and said, "Madison you don’t have to apologize."
"Sorry." Madison said laughing.
"Ok anyway on to the next topic."
"Which is?"
"When I get to see you again."
Madison smiled.
"Well hey we’ll have to continue that topic later. I have to go and do my sound check. If I have time before the show I’ll call you. Ok?"
"Yeah, that’s cool." Madison replied sighing.
"Talk to you later beautiful."
Madison smiled and replied, "Ok, bye."
"Bye." Nick said as he hung up the phone smiling.
"Can I get your number baby? Hit me with the seven digits. Can I get your number baby? Hit me with the seven digits. I’ve been east. I’ve been west-."
"Tony what are you singing?" Madison asked interrupting Tony singing loudly in her hotel room.
"No Authority baby." He replied grinning.
Madison shook her head as she stared flipping through the channels.
"What? They are pretty cool and pretty hot."
"That’s great." Madison replied sarcastically.
"Hey it was either this or Britney." Tony replied as Madison turned up the TV, drowning him out.
"Our sources now tell us that all speculations before about Madison Lewis and Nick Carter dating were completely false. They also told us though that they are now officially a couple. We’ve received a great deal of e-mails on the issue and a great majority of them are comparing them to Justin and Britney. Could they be the new Justin and Britney? I think so."
"Uh, god this is so retarded. What if they start talking about me not being good enough for him or something?" Madison asked Tony as she changed the channel from MTV to cartoons.
"What? Seriously?"
"Yeah, I don’t think I could handle that."
"It’s not that big of a deal you know."
"Yeah it is. You take a relationship in itself that is already hard because we won’t see each other that much and add the media constantly poking their heads in our business. Talking and gossiping about us you know. It’s hard on a relationship."
"You kind of have a point. But if you have love it won’t be so hard."
"Tony I’ve known him a total of two weeks tops. There isn’t love there."
"How do you know?" Tony asked wiggling his eyebrows.
"Well, ok I really don’t know but never mind."
Tony started laughing and said, "You’ll love him it’s only a matter of time."
"You’re on crack." Madison replied as her cell phone began to ring.
"Hello?"
"Hey."
"Hey, done with your sound check?"
"Yep, I have to go on in about 20 minutes so I can’t talk long. But I did tell you if I had time I’d call so I had to call you."
Madison smiled and replied, "I feel special."
"You are special."
Madison sighed as she looked over at Tony and then back at the TV.
"You there?"
"Yeah sorry." Madison said quietly.
"What’s wrong?"
"Nothing."
"You sure?"
"Yeah, I’m fine." Madison replied cutting her eyes over at Tony who had his eyes fixated on the TV.
"Ok." Nick replied suspiciously.
"So, where do you go next?"
"Mexico."
"Cool, I’ve never been there before."
"It’s been a while since I’ve been there."
"Sounds like fun."
"Oh but it is baby."
Madison laughed lightly.
"Hey I have to go and do some stuff before the show. So I’ll talk to you later."
"Ok." Madison replied sighing.
"Bye."
"Bye." Madison said as she hung up the phone looking over at Tony smiling wide.
Nick leaned back on the couch crossing his arms and looking around the room.
"Yo, Nick what’s up?" Mike asked as he walked into the room with very skanky looking girls.
"Nothing." Nick replied shrugging.
"So, Nick this is Melinda and Carey." Mike said as introduced the two girls.
Nick nodded and smiled slightly at them and then he stood up stretching and started to walk towards the door.
"Where ya going?" Mike asked confused as the girls took a seat on the couch.
"I need some air." Nick muttered as he walked out of the room.
Mike looked at him as he closed the door and then back at the girls shrugging, before he walked over to them sitting down between them.
"I hate mornings." Tony whined as they all sat in the back of a van on the way to the airport.
"We know that Tony you tell us that every time we get up early." Jake replied annoyed.
"Just like to share that with you guys." Tony replied grinning.
Jake rolled his eyes as he leaned back crossing his arms.
"Someone is in a bad mood." Tony mumbled under his breath.
Madison laughed lightly as she looked out the window.
"A penny for your thoughts?" Shane asked as he leaned forward in his seat.
"Not really. Just tired." Madison replied sighing.
"You sure?" Shane asked concerned.
"Yeah." Madison said smiling reassuringly.
"Ok." Shane replied as he leaned back in his seat.
"Thinking about your boyfriend?" Tony asked in a weird voice as he wiggled his eyebrows.
"No." Madison replied laughing lightly.
"Uh huh."
"Tony I’m not like you I don’t think about boys 24/7."
"Interesting." Tony replied as he sat back in his seat with an amused look on his face.
Madison shook her head as she sank lower into the seat, resting her head on the back of it, closing her eyes.
