It'll Be Okay

Chapter 13

What Was I Thinking?

Madison got back to the hotel still holding back the urge to cry, the whole ride back to the hotel she tried to get a flight out of Vegas as soon as possible, but the next one was going to be early in the morning. The only thing she could do was get herself a room for the night until her flight. There was just one tiny little obstacle, her bag was in Nick’s room.

After quite a few heated arguments with the manager of the hotel and the guy at the front desk the manager agreed to let Madison go to Nick’s room to get her bag, but she had to be accompanied by him.

"What do you think I’m going to hide in his room and wait for him to come back so I can molest him?" Madison asked the manager as they rode the elevator up to Nick’s floor.

He gave her a stern look and then looked straight ahead.

"Well ok then." Madison whispered as she watched the numbers at the top of the elevator light up.

"Now hurry up." The manager said when they reached Nick’s door after he unlocked it.

Madison walked in and grabbed her bag and then walked out. "See took me a minute." She said holding up her bag as she walked out.

"You can never be to sure ma’am."

"Sure." Madison replied rolling her eyes as they walked back to the elevator.

Madison sat in a hotel room, close to the airport later that night, with nothing but her thoughts. She was mad at herself for coming to see him, knowing all the while who he was and everything about him. She was naïve and she knew she wasn’t good enough for Nick, not even close to his standards. Then why did she come? The only question that hung over her head and the only one she didn’t have an answer for.

She wondered if he even noticed that she was gone. Probably not, he was surrounded by gorgeous women who worshiped the ground he walked on. Much prettier and skinner girls than her; and more experienced girls who were willing to do anything.

Without thinking twice about it, Madison walked over to the hotel phone and ordered tons of junk food. She was depressed and she needed some comfort food.

Three hours later Madison was once again kneeling in front of the toilet, emptying her stomach. This time was different though, it was harder for her to get everything out. It hurt more. Her throat burned longer. Finally, she couldn’t do it anymore and she fell back against the wall and cried.

She calmed herself down after a few minutes and began to talk out loud to herself. "I wonder how many people would come to my funeral if I died." She laughed lightly to herself for thinking that, she didn’t want to die. But she couldn’t push the possibility of ending it all out of her mind; she knew it was stupid and as well as a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

"Hey what are you doing here?" Tony asked sleepily when he answered his hotel room door to find Madison standing there.

"I don’t want to talk about it." Madison mumbled as she pushed passed Tony and walked into his room.

"Ok." Tony replied as he closed the door and turned around looking for Madison. "Uh… Madison?" He asked hoping she didn’t walk into the bedroom.

"Ok, you could have told me there was a naked ass guy in your bed." Madison said as she stormed out of the bedroom.

"You didn’t give me a chance to."

"Whatever, I’ll sleep on the couch."

"What happened with Nick?"

"Nothing." She replied walking over to the couch.

"Liar, if nothing happened you’d still be there."

"Just shut the fuck up and leave me alone and go back to your little boy toy in there." Madison snapped at him as she laid down on the couch.

Tony stood there dumbfounded, never had Madison said things like that to him. He nodded slightly and then walked off while Madison laid there with her hand over her eyes.

Madison groaned as her cell phone continued to ring in her ear. She rolled over and nearly fell off the couch. She sat up rubbing her eyes and grabbed her cell phone off the table in front of the couch.

"Hello?" She asked as she tried to read her watch.

"Why did you leave?"

With that she hung up the phone and laid it back on the table. It was two o’clock in the afternoon and she was still sleeping? She stood up and cautiously walked over to the bedroom door. She tried to see if she could hear any noises from inside. When all was clear she opened the doors to find the room empty. When she walked back out her cell phone began to ring again.

"Hello?" She asked as she looked around the room some more.

"You hung up on me."

Madison laughed as she hung up on him again.

"Hey, you’re finally up. We’re leaving in two hours." Tony said as he walked into the room in sweatpants and a tank top all sweaty.

"Where have you been?" Madison asked looking at her oddly.

"Jogging."

Madison started laughing.

"What?" Tony asked as her cell phone began to ring again.

"Hello?" She asked laughing still.

"Stop hanging up on me."

She laughed even harder when she hung up her phone again.

"Who was that?" Tony asked curiously.

"Nick." Madison replied simply as she grabbed her bag.

"Why did you hang up on him?"

"Because he ditched me at a club, left me all alone to be with some silicon thing."

"Oh." Tony replied nodding knowingly.

"You guys would get along you both ditch me when you find something better." Madison retorted as she headed towards the bathroom.

"That was low." Tony said following her into the bathroom.

"It was nothing but the truth and you know it." Madison replied as she slammed the bathroom door.

"Two weeks in Europe." Jake said in the car on the way to the airport.

"Very observant Jake." Shane mumbled as he flipped through a magazine.

"I’m saying I don’t want to spend two weeks in Europe."

"Two weeks and then we’ll be back here getting ready for our album to be released." Tony said quietly from the back seat.

"Hey Madison, did you see this?" Shane asked holding up a picture of her and Nick at the club the night before.

"What?" Madison asked looking back at him.

He handed her the magazine.

"God, this is already getting old. I hate seeing pictures of myself everywhere. Shane why did you buy this?" Madison asked flipping through the other pages of the magazine.

Shane shrugged and said, "I borrowed it from Tony."

"Sure." Madison replied sarcastically.

"I did." Shane replied defensively.

Madison started laughing and said, "Ok." And handed him the magazine back.

"I hate flying." Tony said as him and Madison took their seats.

"That’s like the tenth time you said that." Madison snapped.

"I know you’re upset about Nick and everything but why are you so snappy with me?"

"I’m not upset about Nick and I’m not being snappy."

"Ok." Tony replied as he put his headphones on.

Madison sighed heavily as she leaned her head back and closed her eyes.

"We are beautiful no matter what they say, words won’t bring us down. We are beautiful in every single way; yes words can’t bring us down." Tony sang loudly next to Madison.

Madison glared at him as he continued to sing like he didn’t see her looking at him. She grabbed his headphones and ripped them off of his ears.

"Hey." He whined as he tried to grab the headphones.

"Stop singing so damn loud."

"Fine god." Tony replied sighing heavily.

"I mean it." Madison said pointing at him.

"Fine, now give them back so I can get back into diva mode." Tony said holding his hand out for his headphones.

Madison rolled her eyes as she leaned her back again closing her eyes. She groaned when Tony started humming along to Britney Spears.
