Chapter 14
Please?
"Ah, here we are." Tony said as the plane landed. He looked over at Madison smiling.
Madison glared at him, because of him and his loud humming she couldn’t sleep. "I’m so excited." She mumbled sarcastically as she stood up and stretched.
They walked off the plane and headed over to get their bags. Madison stood there checking her voice mail while she waited for her bags.
"You have 15 new voice messages."
"Damn." Madison said to herself as she sat down.
"Madison, why aren’t you answering your phone? Are you pissed at me? God damn it Mike I’m coming. I have to go call me when you get this."
She sighed as she started to listen to the tenth one. So far all the messages were from Nick basically saying the same thing.
"Madison, come on. I don’t know what I did I thought we were having fun. I like you. Please call me back. Please. I want to know what happened."
"I’m sure you were having fun." Madison mumbled as she deleted that message.
"Madison this is your mother what are you doing? Trying to embarrass the whole family? You’ve already disappointed them all by joining that secular band and playing that secular music. Now, your prancing around with some musician at all hours of the night doing only god knows what, like some kind of hooker. When you get this you better call me back, we have to talk. Your father is on the verge of a heart attack."
Madison rolled her eyes at her mother’s message. Leave it to her mother to put her in even more of a bad mood. She stood up sighing when she saw Shane motion for her to come.
"This is weird." Shane said as he sat on the couch in the dressing room next to Madison fidgeting.
"What is?" Madison asked looking at him.
"Performing in another country; we’ve never done this before. I’m really nervous."
"Ok." Madison replied as she continued to tune her guitar and then her cell phone began to ring.
"Are you going to get that?" Shane asked.
"You answer it. It’s Nick I know it is; just tell me him I’m indisposed at the moment."
"Alright." Shane said shrugging as he picked up the phone. "Hello?"
"Who is this?"
"Who are you?"
"I asked you first."
"This is Shane."
"Who’s Shane?"
"Who are you?"
"None of your business."
"Well you called me so I should know who you are, right?"
"This is Madison’s phone."
"Who is Madison?" Shane asked while Madison began to laugh quietly.
"Listen here you motherfucker, I’m not playing put Madison on the phone."
"She’s indisposed." Shane said and hung up before Nick could reply.
"Nice." Madison said laughing.
"Why are you avoiding him?"
"Because when I went down there he totally ditched me, left me all by myself. He was dancing with a few other girls, I mean I was jealous of course you know but it wasn’t bad that they were dancing. But he left me all alone, and then he started kissing one of them and I left."
"I don’t blame you. The guy invites you down to see him and he totally ignores you. I’d be hanging up on him too."
"Yeah but-." Madison started to say but her phone started ringing again.
"He's a persistent little fuck." Shane said laughing.
"Hello?" Madison asked laughing.
"Who answered your phone earlier?"
"Shane."
"Who’s that?"
"What’s it to you?"
"I just want to know."
"He’s in the band."
"Why did you leave?"
"You should know." Madison said and paused.
"Don’t fucking hang up on me again!" Nick screamed into the phone.
"Excuse me?" Madison asked taken aback.
"I’m sorry I didn’t mean to yell but you’re really pissing me off with all the hanging up and shit."
"Then stop calling and I won’t have to hang up on you." Madison said and then hung up on him again.
"What did he say?"
"He just asked who you were and shit and then he yelled at me and told me not to hang up on him again."
"He yelled at you?"
Madison nodded and said, "Then he apologized or whatever saying I was just pissing him off with hanging up on him and everything."
"Screw him."
"Yeah."
"Time to go on stage." John said as he walked into the dressing room clapping his hands.
Madison and Shane stood up and followed John out of the room.
"Oh my god!" Nick screamed as he threw his phone across the room.
"God, dude calm down." Mike said as he got up and walked over to Nick’s phone picking it up.
"Fuck you."
Mike walked back over and sat down next to Nick. "You didn’t break it luckily."
"Why is she doing this? This isn’t how it’s supposed to be."
"Maybe because you went off with some other girls and she’s just not going to take that shit from you?"
Nick looked over at Mike. "You think?"
"Yeah, I think she’s different. She doesn’t need a man to be happy."
"Sure. She hasn’t been with me yet. I’ll make her think that I’m all she needs and when she doesn’t have me around she’ll feel incomplete." Nick said grinning.
"Yes, that’s it Nick let’s play with an innocent girl’s mind. Let’s destroy someone." Mike replied sarcastically.
"What crawled up your ass?" Nick asked crossing his arms.
"I’m just tired of this whole I’m Nick Carter, I’m god, and every girl will bow down to me shit. That’s what it is its bullshit. You’re only going after this girl because she isn’t already throwing herself at you. You are intrigued by the fact that she’s innocent and to top it off she’s beautiful and you can’t stand it that she isn’t throwing herself at you."
"Not true."
"Then prove me wrong." Mike said crossing his arms and facing Nick.
"What you want me to prove that I genuinely like her?"
Mike nodded.
"I can do that." Nick said grinning.
"Bullshit, you’ll get tired of her after you get her to give it up."
"I don’t think so."
"Sure." Mike replied sarcastically.
Madison laid on her bed that night writing in her journal when her cell phone started to ring. She sighed as she got up and headed into the main part of the room.
"Yes?" She asked.
"Is that how you are going to answer your phone now?"
"I knew it was you." Madison replied as she walked back into the room lying back down on the bed.
"So what’s up?"
"Nothing, just sitting her in Europe bored of the damn country already."
Nick laughed and said, "How long are you there for?"
"Two weeks and then we’re back in the states releasing our album."
"Excited?"
"Ecstatic." Madison replied laughing.
"That’s cool I’ll have to go buy it."
Madison laid there slightly confused. "So what happened to mean Nick?"
"I killed him."
"That’s too bad."
"What?"
"I thought he was kind of sexy."
Nick started laughing and asked, "Madison are you flirting with me?"
"No." She said simply.
"I am sorry for yelling at you. I was just mad I didn’t know why you left and you kept hanging up on me and it was annoying."
"Why are you apologizing? It wasn’t like we were together. No need for apologizes you were doing what comes natural, being the horn dog that you are and all."
"But I invited you down to see me and I ignored you."
"Yes you did."
"So I’m sorry."
"But no need to be sorry, not like we are a couple you had no obligation to stay by my side all night."
"You’re right."
"Ok then, bye."
"What? Bye?"
"Well we settled everything didn’t we?"
"Yeah, I guess but I want to see you again."
Madison was quiet for a second. "Why?" She asked confused.
"Uh, because I like you?" Nick replied while Madison sat on the other end of the phone surprised.
