Chapter 10
Why Can’t I Stop Smiling?
“So, he kissed you? You guys kissed? Swapped spit? Was it nice? Were his lips as soft as they look? Is he a good kisser?” Tony asked Madison, he was talking so fast she barely even understood him.
“You’re crazy.” Madison replied laughing.
“Damn it girl you better tell me.”
Madison sighed and sat down next to Tony. “Where to begin?”
“Uh… the kiss!” Tony replied impatiently.
“It was… incredible.” Madison said smiling.
“Details damn it.”
“Ok… yes his lips are as soft as they look. God you have no idea, seriously they are very nice. I could so get used to kissing that boy. He definitely knows what he’s doing.” Madison replied grinning at Tony.
“You’re face hurt yet?”
“Huh?”
“You’ve been smiling more than usual, just wondering if your face hurts.”
Madison hit Tony in the chest and said, “Shut up, I’m not smiling that much. Am I?”
Tony grinned wide at her as he nodded.
“Well, even though I enjoyed that kiss and everything but damn I have a feeling I’m going to be even more uncomfortable around him. Which sucks.”
Tony stood up rolling his eyes as he walked out of the dressing room.
Madison looked around and said, “Well fuck you too.” She stood up and headed into the bathroom.
She stood in front of the mirror smiling. How could she be smiling so much and still not be happy with herself? She locked the bathroom door and then turned the water faucet on so she couldn’t be heard and kneeled in front of the toilet. She had resorted to only throwing up once a day; she thought that was the best thing, for now at least.
Madison laid in her bed that night after their show, that went incredibly well which she gave credit to the wonderful mood she was in. She was staring at the ceiling replaying the events from the night before over and over again in her mind. He had put her under his spell with just that one kiss; she couldn’t stop thinking about him now. Everything about him and that kiss was now imprinted permanently into her mind. She never felt like this before; on one hand it was exciting for her but on the other hand she was nervous and not sure what was going to happen.
Madison’s cell phone began to ring incessantly in her ear. She rolled over and saw it sitting on the pillow next to her. She wondered how it got there and slowly moved her arm up to answer it.
She flipped it open and muttered something close to a hello.
“Madison?”
Madison sat there a second as she yawned and then replied, “Uh yeah.”
“It’s Nick.”
Immediately a smile formed as Madison laid back down and looked over at the window. “The sun isn’t even out yet.” She said yawning once again.
Nick laughed, “It is here… sorry. Did I wake you up then?”
“Uh… yeah, but it’s cool you would have woken me up if you called at like three in the afternoon. We have two days off. It’s a miracle. I have to thank Jake later; he got really sick last night and well John decided to wait for him to get better before we continue with the tour.” She replied as she closed her eyes again.
“Really two days?”
“Uh huh.” She mumbled as she pulled the covers over her head.
“Interesting.”
“What?”
“Nothing.” Nick replied innocently.
“Are you planning something?”
Nick laughed and said, “Well I was thinking since you were off for two days then maybe you could come see me.”
“Oh really?” Madison replied smiling.
“You don’t have to, it was just an idea.” Nick said grinning as Mike walked into his hotel room with a girl attached to his arm.
“I didn’t say that.”
“So?” Nick asked as he got up and headed into the bedroom as soon as the girl that Mike brought in with him sat down next to him wrapping her arm around his shoulders.
Madison started to fall back asleep.
“Hello?” Nick asked his voice louder.
Madison jumped a little. “Sorry, I was falling back asleep. What did you say?” She replied sleepily.
“Oh I see how it is now.” Nick replied sounding hurt.
“Sorry.” Madison said simply.
“It’s cool baby.” Nick said as he laughed lightly.
“Mm…” Madison moaned a little as she stretched and rolled over.
“What are you doing?”
“Not what you’re thinking.” Madison retorted quickly.
“How do you know what I’m thinking?”
“I’m smart?”
“Ok, anyway so are you going to come and see me or what?”
“Where are you?”
“Vegas baby.”
“Ok, I’ll see what I can do.”
“Oh so you’re going to be like that huh?” Nick asked laughing.
“I have no clue what you’re talking about.” Madison said innocently.
“Uh huh sure, I think the whole innocent thing is an act.”
“Oh really, that’s not very nice.”
“You know I’m playing. I don’t remember if I told you or not but I really had a nice time on our date.” Nick said rolling his eyes as he laughed to himself.
Madison smiled and said, “Yeah me too. You made me smile more than I have in a long ass time.”
“That’s good.”
“Yeah.”
“Madison!” Tony yelled as he ran into her room and jumped on her bed.
“Oh my god.” Madison said as she covered her eyes with her hand and pulled the cover up higher over her head.
“Who was that?” Nick asked curiously.
“Tony, nobody important.”
“Oh, hey did you know he had a shirt with my face on it during your concert the other night?”
Madison started laughing and replied, “Yeah he thinks you’re hot.”
“So he is gay?”
“Uh, yeah.”
“Mike and I were trying to figure that out.”
Madison laughed even harder and replied, “I didn’t think it’d be that hard.”
“How long have you guys been friends?”
“Since we were in diapers.” Madison replied as Tony looked her strangely.
“Oh… well hey I have to go.” Nick said as a different girl walked into the room he was in and sat on the bed behind him and began to kiss his neck and move her hands down his chest.
“Ok, well I’ll call you later and tell you the finalized plans.”
Nick closed his eyes sighing as the girl started moving her hand over the crotch of his pants. “Yeah.”
“Ok.” Madison replied totally oblivious to what was going on with him.
“Bye.” Nick said quickly and hung up the phone before Madison could say anything and then he looked at the girl. “I was on the phone, now you have to pay.” He said some what seductively as he pushed her down on the bed as she giggled before he turned around hovering over her and then started to kiss her roughly.
“I’m going to see Nick.” Madison said smiling.
Tony squealed and said, “That’s great I’m excited for you.”
“Why can’t I stop smiling?” Madison looked around the room and then back at Tony.
Tony looked at her oddly and said, “Because you made out with Nick Carter? That might have something to do with it.”
“You think?” Madison asked sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.
“I can’t believe you are really going to go off and see Mr. Carter without me or the other guys for that matter. You are growing up. I’m so proud.” Tony said and then wiped a fake tear off his cheek.
“Shut up. You think I should do it or not?”
“Do it? You mean ‘it’? Or go to see him?”
Madison shook her head. “Everything isn’t about sex you know.”
“Really? That’s amazing.”
“Shut up. I’m serious, do you think I should go down to see him or not?”
“I think it’s time for you to live a little, experience new things. Experience Carter land and tell me how wonderful it is, cause girl I know it’s got be the best thing since sliced bread.”
“Hey you guys Madison is on the front page of the National Enquirer.” Shane said as he busted into Madison’s hotel room.
“What?” Madison snapped as she stood up and walked over to Shane.
“Yeah with Nick.” Shane said grinning as he looked at Tony.
