"Jane you really didn’t have to make breakfast." Jana said when her and Nick entered the kitchen.

"It’s ok really I enjoy it." Jana replied smiling.

"She’s only doing it because Alyssa told her that she didn’t like your cooking." Nick whispered in Jana’s ear.

"Little brat." Jana mumbled then turned around and walked into the living room while Nick stood there laughing.

Jana sat down on the couch and watched Trenton play Nintendo while Alyssa sat next to him watching. She smiled just watching them she still couldn’t believe she actually had them and she was married it was all so surreal for her. She was lost in her thoughts when Nick sat down next to her.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked wrapping an arm around her.

"How my life is perfect."

Nick smiled as he looked at the kids on the floor in front of the TV. "We make pretty babies." He whispered in her ear then kissed her cheek.

"Yeah you remember the day we had Trenton?"

"For the rest of my life." Nick replied as they both started laughing.

~April 5, 2004~

"Jana you’re really hurting my hand." Nick said as he stood next to Jana in the delivery room.

"Nick if you don’t shut up I’m going to kill you. You can complain about pain when you are squeezing out a 7 pound baby out of a small hole with no drugs. Until then shut the fuck up."

"Why don’t have drugs again?" Nick asked through clenched teeth.

"Fucking tattoo." Jana mumbled squeezing Nick’s hand harder when the next contraction came.

"Can’t they give you something? You sure are a little more bitchy than normal."

"Wrong thing to say." The nurse said as she walked by.

Jana glared at Nick and got a tighter grip on his hand if that was possible.

"Ok Jana one more push." The doctor said.

Jana started to scream and Nick screamed with her because she was breaking his hand and finally they heard the baby screaming. Jana fell back on the bed breathing hard as the doctor handed her the baby.

"It’s a boy." He said giving Jana the baby.

Nick smiled down at Jana as she looked at the baby smiling. He pushed her hair out of her face and kissed her forehead. "You did good."

She smiled at him then kissed him.

"So does the baby have a name?" The doctor asked taking him back to clean him.

"Trenton Gene." Jana said sighing.

"He looks just like the dad." The nurse said smiling at Nick.

"Poor kid." Jana said as she laid her head back closing her eyes.

Nick looked at Jana like he was hurt and the nurses laughed.

"You really hurt my hand that day. It really turned out to be sprained you know. And you didn’t even feel bad about it."

"Nick, must we go over this again? I was having a child shut up." Jana replied smacking his chest lightly.

"Ow." Nick said quietly.

"God you’re a baby."

"Breakfast is ready." Jane announced from the kitchen.

"Pancakes!" Alyssa squealed as she ran into the kitchen.

"Exciting." Jana said in monotone twirling her finger.

"Stop it." Nick said as he got up.

"Alyssa stop playing in your syrup." Jana said while they sat at the table eating breakfast.

Alyssa pouted as she grabbed her fork and started to eat with that.

"Well kids I’m going to go now. Happy birthday Nicky. Good-bye Jana." Jane said as she stood up from the table.

"Bye Jane."

"Bye mom."

"Bye Trenton." She said as she gave him a kiss.

"Bye grandma."

"Good-bye Alyssa angel." She said giving her a kiss.

"Bye ma ma." Alyssa said smiling big at Jane.

Jane gave Nick a big wet kiss on his cheek and then left.

"She still doesn’t like me." Jana said.

"Yeah you’re right."

"Well gee thanks Nick don’t try and make me feel better or anything."

"Well you already know."

Jana mouthed ‘fuck you’ then went back to eating while Nick laughed.

"Mommy?" Alyssa asked from across the table.

"Yeah baby?" Jana asked looking at Alyssa.

"Can we go to Disney land today?"

"Not today."

"Why not?" She asked pouting.

Jana rolled her eyes and said, "Because I said so. Daddy is leaving tomorrow we aren’t doing anything today end of story."

"But mom." They both said at the same time.

"End of story." Jana said looking at them sternly.

They both slumped in their seats and pouted.

"You’re so mean." Nick whispered to Jana as he took a drink of his milk.

Jana glared at him as she got up.

"Daddy will you play with us today?" Jana heard Alyssa ask Nick after she walked out of the room. She could tell by the tone in her voice she was pouting. Jana rolled her eyes when she heard Nick agree to anything they wanted to do today. So much for her plans, couldn’t Nick just agree with her just once? He always had to do whatever the kids wanted to do, he never told them no and he never punished them. Jana always had to be the bad guy and Nick was the big kid.

~May 2004~

Jana sat in the rocking chair watching Trenton as he slept late one night. She smiled at the baby sleeping peacefully. She looked around the room and noticed that there were some new toys in the corner. She shook her head slightly and laughed as she got up and walked over to the toys. Nick had brought them back with him when he came home from the studio; every time he went somewhere he’d bring some kind of toy back for Trenton. He was a month old and already had more toys than any ten year old. She sat back down and continued to watch Trenton. She smiled as she leaned her head back and closed her eyes. She often wondered about Nick being a dad throughout her whole pregnancy she wasn’t sure he could handle the responsibility; she still wasn’t all that sure he could.

"What are you doing?" Nick whispered to her as he walked into the room.

Jana turned around and smiled at him.

"You know it’s really late." He said walking over to her.

She nodded.

"What’s wrong?" He asked kneeling down in front of her.

"Nothing, everything is fine."

"Are you sure?" He asked raising his eyebrow.

"Yeah, I just have a feeling we’re going to fuck up this kid."

"Well thanks Jana for the confidence."

Jana rolled her eyes as she got up. "Shut up, let’s go to bed." She said grabbing his arm dragging him with her.

"Mommy, daddy said we could go anywhere we wanted today and me and Alyssa want to go to Disney land." Trenton said to Jana as she was cleaning the kitchen up.

She turned around looking at Trenton a minute then out the back door to see Nick sitting by the pool on the phone. "Stay here baby." She said as she walked outside.

Jana stood close to the door waiting for Nick to get off the phone. When he did he stood up and turned around and saw her standing there with her arms crossed with a pissed look on her face. He put his hands in his pockets and looked down he knew she was pissed.

"Nick, how can I put this without yelling at you? I can’t fucking stand it when you do this to me."

"Do what?" He asked innocently.

Jana walked over to him so they were face to face. "You know damn well what I’m talking about. Telling the kids they can go to Disney land today when I already told them no. How in the hell do you know I didn’t have anything already planned today." She poked his chest.

"Damn baby that hurts."

"I’m so fucking tired of being the bad guy all the time. The kids would rather be with you then me all the damn time and it pisses me off so damn bad because you aren’t a parent to them you’re just like a friend.’

"What do you want me to do?" He asked getting angry.

"Take responsibility." She said pushing him then walking off.
