Nikki looked at Jana while Jana still sat there with her eyes closed. "What?" Nikki asked with wide eyes.

"You heard me." Jana said as she opened her eyes.

"Oh my fucking god I don’t even know what to say." Nikki said shaking her head.

"Well don’t say anything."

"I want to know everything, right now."

"What do you mean?"

"You know damn well what I mean."

"Well… I slept with Shawn twice Nick was in the middle of it."

"But I don’t get it Trenton looks like Nick."

"Nikki, Shawn has a lot of the same physical features as Nick. He has the blond hair and blue eyes. That’s what Trenton got from him."

"Oh my god and no one has ever questioned it."

"They have no right to; his facial features are like mine. So he got Shawn’s hair and eyes and that’s what people think he got from Nick. Why would they question it?"

"You’re huge ass nose yeah, but damn Jana how could do this?"

"Do what?"

"Lie to everyone, to Nick."

Jana shrugged as she began to cry again. "Like I said I didn’t want to disappoint him."

"So how and when did Shawn find out he was the father? Or has he even?"

"He knows, I told him about a year or so after Trenton was born I just thought he should know you know. Then he said he wanted to see him, and I said it wasn’t possibly so that’s why I think he did this because I wouldn’t let him see him."

"I don’t get it, I don’t get you Jana."

"Well I don’t either."

"What?"

"Get it or myself."

"You know what I think. I think you’re still in love with Shawn. God only knows why because Nick is so much better to you and for you than Shawn."

"I’m not still in love with Shawn." Jana said sternly.

"Well when you do the shit that you’ve done I don’t even believe you when you say that."

"Thanks." Jana said as she began to cry harder.

"Jana do you realize that if they find Shawn and if he really took Trenton. If it goes to trial or anything like that you do know he’s going to say he took him because he’s his father."

Jana nodded slightly. "That’s why I was going to see if I could maybe find him and talk him out of doing that and see if we could compromise or something."

"Oh my god do you hear yourself?" Nikki asked as she shook her head and looked around.

Jana looked up at Nikki, and had the most pitiful look on her face Nikki had ever seen. "I don’t want to lose Nick." She said wiping her tears away.

"I think you already have." Nikki said sadly.

"What?" Jana asked sitting up.

Nikki didn’t say anything but she moved her eyes over to the right and Jana followed her eyes to see Nick standing behind them far enough away to still hear what they were saying but also so they couldn’t see him. Jana looked at him and couldn’t even describe the look on his face, her heart sunk as they stared at each other.

Nick began to walk over to them. "I guess I’m just always in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’m always hearing things I shouldn’t. I’m so used to being the one that messes up; it’s different to be on the other end. I came back to ask you something but then I heard what you said, the last part of it but that was enough. I’m going to go now, I’m going to stay somewhere else tonight don’t try and find me or anything because you’re the last person I want to see right now." He said calmly and then turned around and started to walk back up to the house.

"Nick! Wait!" Jana yelled after him as she got up and ran over to him.

"Jana I’d advise you to just walk away right now. It’s taking everything in me not to lose control right now and if you keep at it I’m going to lose it and it won’t be pretty so just stop, walk away."

"I can’t, I have to explain." Jana pleaded with him.

"There’s no amount of explaining you could do to make anything better right now or not even ever at this point. I’m going to get Alyssa and we are going to go somewhere else tonight." Nick said as he started to walk away.

"No! You can’t do that. It’s not fair." Jana yelled at him while she continued to cry.

Nick stopped and turned around. "You want to talk about what’s fair? Do you really want to know what isn’t fair?" Nick yelled as he got closer to her.

Jana shook her head as she began to cry even more. "I’m sorry." She whispered and looked at him.

"That means nothing to me right now." Nick said calmly then stared at her for a second and then turned back around and walked away.

Nikki slowly got up from where she was sitting and walked up to Jana. She put her arms around her and just hugged her as she cried on her shoulder.

Nick drove to Kayla’s house his emotions on over drive. He should have told Jana to go somewhere else; he didn’t know where he was going to go. He didn’t want to impose on any of his friends but then again he didn’t want to take her to a hotel.

Finally deciding he would just see if AJ would let them stay there tonight then he would decide what to do after that. He pulled up to Kayla’s house and sat there for a minute just thinking about how much his life had changed in just a few days. He got out of the car and headed towards the house.

Jana cried on Nikki’s shoulder for the longest time. Deep down Nikki wanted to tell her that she deserved it, that she couldn’t keep it secret forever but she knew this wasn’t the time for her to express her opinion about Jana’s mistakes.

"Nikki?" Jana asked breaking the silence that had formed between them.

"Yeah?" Nikki asked as she continued to rub Jana’s back.

"Do you really think I lost him?" She asked sniffing.

Nikki didn’t know what to say. Truthfully, she didn’t really even know what to think. "I don’t know sweetie."

"I don’t think I could live without him." Jana whispered and then started to cry again.

Nikki didn’t reply she just continued to rub Jana’s back.

"I guess I lived most of my life without him with me right? Then I could go on without him, you think?"

"Jana, stop talking like that." Nikki said quietly.

"But you don’t understand."

"I may not but you don’t know anything yet."

"I know but-."

"No buts." Nikki said sternly.

"Fine." Jana said quietly.

"Daddy where are we going?" Alyssa asked from the back seat of his car.

"Uncle AJ’s we are going to stay the night."

"Is mommy coming?"

Nick thought about how he was going to answer that. What should he say? What could he say? "No baby girl, her and Aunt Nikki are going to spend the night together."

"Ok daddy." Alyssa said cheerily.

Nick smiled as he continued to drive to AJ’s house.

"Hey Nick." AJ said as he opened the door.

"Hey." Nick said as him and Alyssa walked in.

"Alyssa you want to go play with Tyler? He’s in his room." AJ said then Alyssa ran up the stairs.

"I think you need a drink." AJ said patting Nick on the back as they started to walk into the kitchen.

"Yeah." Was all Nick said.

"So? You want to talk about it?" AJ asked as him and Nick sat outside on the back porch.

Nick shrugged. "I don’t even know how it all happened. It went by so fast. God, first I find out that Jana slept with Shawn after I had done that you know. Then that she didn’t know that the baby was going to be mine or not and when we were in Hawaii I told her I wanted another baby and she agreed but I also found out that she didn’t want another one so she went back on her birth control. Then Trenton was kidnapped and we watched the tapes from the mall to see if we could identify the man he was talking to, Jana said she knew him. She said it was her ex boyfriend Shawn, and then we got home Nikki drug her out by the beach and they were talking. I was going to go pick up Alyssa and then I overheard her talking she said that Trenton wasn’t really mine." Nick said and then took a deep breath when he finished.

"Damn. That’s a lot of shit man."

Nick nodded slowly as he took another drink of his beer.

"What are you going to do?"

Nick shrugged and asked, "Is there anything I can do?"

"Man, I don’t know. I’m not sure what I would do if I was in your position."

"There’s only one thing I can think of."

AJ looked over at Nick and asked, "What’s that?"

Nick looked at AJ but didn’t say anything.

"Divorce?" AJ asked softly.
