~January 28, 2010~

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Nick, happy birthday to you." Everyone in the room sang as Nick sat at the end of the table a huge cake with a big ‘30’ candle on top of it sat in front of him.

"Make a wish baby." Jana said as she leaned down and kissed Nick on the cheek.

"Can I wish to be 10 years younger?" Nick asked causing everyone in the room to laugh.

"Hey I’m 40 so get over it and blow the damn candle out I want some cake." Kevin said from the far end of the table.

Nick flipped him off and blew out the candle then everyone clapped and Jana started cutting the cake.

Nick smiled at Jana when she looked at him smiling big. He loved her smile. He was so happy that he was spending the rest of his life with her.

~2003~

"Nick where are you taking me?" Jana asked from the passenger seat of his car trying to remove the blindfold from her eyes.

"Stop that." Nick said as he swatted her hands away from the cloth around her eyes.

"Come on give me a hint."

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"I love you."

"I love you too, and that’s not going to work either." Nick said laughing.

Jana sighed and leaned back in the seat crossing her arms across her chest.

A few minutes later the car stopped and Nick got out of the car and Jana sat up and waited for him to come around and open her door.

"We’re here." Nick said as he opened the door and helped her out.

"Duh!"

Nick laughed and started to walk leading the way for Jana. Then he stopped.

"You ready for this?"

"I’m not sure."

"Well you remember when we were talking about you moving in with me?"

"Uh huh."

"Well I thought it over for a long ass time and decided," He paused to take the blindfold off, "that if we did start living together that it’d be in a new house, starting a new life together."

Jana looked at the huge house before her with her mouth hanging open slightly. She turned to Nick and asked, "So what are you saying?"

Nick pulled out a silver princess cute diamond ring and said, "That I only want to live with you if you are my wife."

Jana stared at the ring reminding herself that breathing is essential to living. "Are you serious?" She finally managed to get out.

"Yes, Jana god I’m so in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

"So this is our house?" Jana asked smiling.

"Only if you say yes." Nick replied smiling back at her.

"When do we move in?" She asked wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him.

"Nick are you ok honey?" Jana asked Nick waving a piece of cake in front of him.

"Great." He replied smiling and taking the cake.

"Are you sure? Because I was talking to you and you were just staring off into space with a goofy look on your face."

Nick grabbed Jana’s arm and pulled her to him kissing her and said, "I’m fine."

"Ok." Jana replied as she went back to handing out cake to everyone in the room.

"Hey could you two get a room?" AJ asked from the corner of the room shoving a piece of cake in his mouth.

~Later that night~

"I feel so old." Nick whined as he crawled into bed.

"You’re only 30 it’s not 40 relax." Jana replied as she put her arm and head on Nick’s chest.

"Don’t even say 40 its horrible sounding."

Jana started to laugh as she cuddled closer to Nick.

"If I wasn’t mistaken Mrs. Carter I would think you were trying to get fresh with me."

"What if I am?" Jana asked seductively in his ear.

"I’d say bring it on." Nick said as he got on top of her kissing her.

~The Next Day~

Nick pulled Jana closer to him while he sleep, Jana smiled against his chest. She loved it when he did that. She loved being as close as possible to him.

Jana was at the point where you are asleep but you still know what’s going on around you when she felt the bed starting to move. She groaned and snuggled closer to Nick’s chest.

Nick sat up quickly and looked at what was causing the bed to move and then laid back down. "Baby, I’m having that dream again when those small children that look just like me are jumping up and down on the bed." Nick mumbled against the pillow.

Jana started laughing and was about to reply but she was interrupted.

"Daddy, get up! We went shopping with grandma yesterday and we got you a birthday present. Get up daddy!" Trenton said while he started to shake Nick.

"OK I’m up." Nick said sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

"Happy Birthday daddy." Alyssa said as she fell into Nick’s arms giving him a big hug.

"Thanks baby girl." Nick replied kissing her head.

"Mommy you have to get up too." Trenton said as he sat on her back.

Jana just groaned in reply.

"Yeah, you two wake up mommy." Nick said as he stood up and walked out of the room.

"I’m up. I’m up. Stop jumping." Jana said sitting up and yawning.

"Come on mommy." Alyssa said pulling Jana’s arm.

"You guys go ahead I’ll be downstairs in a minute." Jana said stretching and then she watched them jump off the bed and run out of the room.

~August 2003~

"So how is all the planning for the wedding going?" Nikki asked from the other end of the phone.

"It’s all done. I think."

"Have you told Nick?"

"No."

"You do know that he will find out sooner or later right?"

"Yes."

"Ok just as long as you know."

"I have to go he’s home."

"Ok. Bye."

"Bye." Jana said as she hung up the phone.

"Hi." Jana said to Nick as he walked into the bedroom.

"Hey." He replied smiling at her.

"I have something to tell you."

"Please tell me it has nothing to do with the wedding because I think I may go crazy. There has been too much wedding shit going on."

Jana laughed a little and said, "No, nothing with the wedding."

"Ok shoot." Nick said as he flopped down face first on the bed.

"Well, I’m pregnant."

"What?" Nick asked a little muffled by the pillow.

"I’m pregnant."

Nick looked at Jana and smiled a little. "Are you serious?"

"Uh yeah."

"Wow. That’s not what I was expecting but wow."

"That’s all you’re going to say?"

"Yeah and if it’s a boy it’s not going to be Nick Jr."

Jana looked at him weird and said, "I thought your reaction would be different."

"Why?"

Jana shrugged.

"We’ll be married next month and you know most people will be expecting that to happen. And I want a baby. I didn’t necessarily want one now but you know can’t really help it can we."

"I guess not." Jana replied then leaned down giving Nick a kiss.

"Daydreaming again?" Nick asked from the doorway of their bedroom.

"No." Jana said smiling at Nick.

"Avoiding my mother who is making breakfast downstairs?" Nick asked raising an eyebrow.

"Now I am."

"I’m not the one that gave her a key."

"Yes you are."

"Oh damn I forgot."

Jana rolled her eyes.

"You should see the presents my wonderful kids got me." Nick said beaming.

"Oh god not sure if I want to know."

"A whole shit load of #1 Dad stuff."

"Oh god." Jana said as she covered her face with her hand.

"There are some interesting things."

"I bet." Jana said laughing.

"Hey, you don’t have any #1 Mom things so ha."

"I’m glad all that shit is gaudy and it’s not going up in my house." Jana said as she got up and started walking towards Nick.

"Oh really?" Nick asked raising an eyebrow and smirking.

"Yes." She said as she got closer then kissed him slowly.
