CHRIST MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH
206 Emerling Drive, Cool Valley, MO

A Living Memorial to a Living Lord

About Christ Memorial

There are some basic doctrines accepted by this Christian fellowship. They are:
1. We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
2. We believe in two ordinances; baptist and communion (the Lord's Supper). Both of these are done as acts of obedience to God and are symbolic in Nature.
3. We believe in baptism by immersion because we believe it is the New Testament mode of baptism but we also believe that baptism is a symbol of faith and not essential to one's salvation. Certainly there are many Christians who do not agree with our concept of baptism. We accept them as Christian brothers and sisters.
4. We believe in no creed but the Bible. The New Testament is our guide in life and ministry.
5. We believe in the individual priesthood of all believers. We need no priest but Jesus. He is our high priest and because of our relationship with Him we can go directly to God for ourselves.
6. We believe in the automony of local churches. Each congregation is self governing and responsible for finding the will of God for themselves.

ABOUT US
This group was started in 1987. Some of the retirees who had worked together on the Harpoon missile program got together about once per month for lunch and to "keep in touch". Tom Beckmann and Bud Schultz got the ball rolling by forming this group. During the first year, they started to meet regularly at Schneithorst's Hofamberg Inn in St. Louis County. By the end of the first year, the group had grown a bit as others retired, but it was still a small group. They had about 10 people during the first year of retirement. This group included: Gene Arnold, Bob Chamberlain, John Lovelace, Simos Ioannou, Jack Plamp, Mike Stack, Tom Beckmann, Bill Merritt, and Bud Schultz

VISIT THE JAMES S. McDONNELL PROLOGUE ROOM ------ NEW HOURS & RULES

The following information is provided by Larry Merritt, Archivist/Historian, James S. McDonnell Prologue Room:

New hours and rules for Prologue Room's summer season. Due to increased security requirements imposed after Sept. 11, the Prologue Room will operate under new guidelines this summer. Visiting hours, however, have been increased to include Mondays. Hours for the history exhibit in Bldg. 100 will be Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June, July, and August. The exhibit will be closed on Sundays and July 4th. All non-employee visitors, including Boeing retirees, must make reservations in advance by calling (314) 232-6896. Reservations should be made at least one day in advance of the visit. Guided tours for organized groups are available. The Prologue Room is a great trip for summer schools, camps, and other school-age groups. The room is also popular with MAC and MDC retirees as well as other seniors' groups. Entrance is through Gate 101 off Airport Road. Security officers at the gate will admit only visitors on the reservation list. If a Prologue Room visitor is with a Boeing badged employee, they do not need a reservation. For Boeing employees, retirees, and their family and friends, Saturdays are best for a Prologue Room visit. The room is less crowded and there is more opportunity to leisurely view the exhibits and videos. New additions to the room include the first Boeing airplane, 1916's B&W, and the newest, the X-45A UCAV.
