All Bead orders are in!! the throw beads, cups, peanuts and doubloons came in yesterday 2/2/01, we have a problem with the "Bead Bag" vendor, but everything else can be picked up next saturday 2/10/01 or Friday night 2/23/01, we will be leaving for the parade early Saturday morning, so if you want to pick up your throws early, please do it by Friday, thanks and Happy Mardi Gras!!
We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to first class, New Orleans style Mardi Gras entertainment for our members and the community. Based in St. Louis Missouri we plan to supply a little bit of Nawlin's a little closer to home. Join now and Let the Good Times Roll !!!!
To get a taste of what we are, visit the Krewe of
Pegasus web site. They are one of New Orleans oldest and most respected Krewes and have been critical to getting our Krewe up and running. Our sincere thanks go out to them.The theme of the 2001 Soulard Mardi Gras is "Carnival Around the World". The Krewe of Avalon will present Fasnacht, Carnival in Switzerland. This theme has many opportunities for creative expression, in addition to the usual costumes and beads, Fasnacht includes a Festival of Lanterns, Children's day and marching bands. Join now and help plan the festivities.
The current dues are set up so everyone can be a member. Individual events will be charged separately, Parade, ball, etc. this will help to keep costs down and you will only have to pay for the events you participate in. The current dues are $50.00 Initiation fee, and $100.00 dues per year. Join between September and February, and the dues will be $50.00 for 6 months, next year's dues of 100.00 will be due by March 31, 2001. The initiation fee will be $25.00 for returning members if there has been a lapse in membership. Members will be accepted from anywhere, out of town, or out of the country.
Other activities of the club will include The membership meetings in September and April, Charity events, family outings, Formal Balls, Parties and of course Mardi Gras. But it takes a Krewe to make it happen.
We always need help to keep things rolling, let me know if you could volunteer some time, we have several committees that need help. And in particular, if you are a lawyer or financial whiz, we really need your help.
