Rolling out of bed I noticed what time it was. Ack! It was 7:15am! I was running
through the house like mad. Trying to get dressed, throw all my notebooks in my
backpack, eating breakfast, and brushing my teeth. I was glad that I was in a hurry though.
It gave me less time to think about last night. Running to the garage I jumped on my bike
and started riding as fast as I could. Taking a left on Buttonwood and turning serveral
other corners I finally made it.
“Rachel!!” someone yelled from behind me. Twisting my head around quickly I
noticed it was Melanie. As I was making my way to the bike racks.
“Hey!” I replyed with a smile. Forgeting what I was doing I jerked to the left and
fell sideways.
“Aurgh! Dang it,” I complained while bracing myself with my elbow. Melanie was
laughing as she came over and grabbed the handle bar to pull the bike off of me.
“Have you been cursed with disater?!” she exclaimed. Ignoring her I got up
dusting off my shirt and jeans.
“I thought were playing sick today,” I shot right back at her.
“My mom took my temperature, and said ‘yea right’. There was no chance of me
escaping,” she explained. “Whats your excuse?”
“I forgot,” I muttered. While I had reached the bike racks, slightly limping.
“What?! Ha! I’ve never heard of someone with such a good excuse as that!”
Melanie said, dripping with saracem. I just grinned as I clicked the lock shut that was
connected to my chain on my bike. “Do you have any idea who that was? In the
you-know-where?” she asked.
A reflection of the thin, purple tinged face flashed threw my memory. Stuggling for
air. The bulged greyish eyes that I couldn’t take my own eyes off of. The panic that over
took me. “No,” I replyed through my teeth. I wanted to stay off the subject. Melanie was
probably surprised by my little reaction I had to the incedent. Truthfully, MELANIE was a
constant annoying reminder. “I think the bell is going to ring in a few minutes...I have to
get to homeroom, see ya at lunch.”
“Ok,” Melanie replyed.
I walked to my boring homeroom at my regular fast pace with my head down.
Some how I got through the 10 minutes watching the clock tick...how exciting, and made
my way to my next class.
