Gods of the Realm
In this world, the gods basically act as kind of a government over the world. Each lord has his own place and acknowledges the neccesity behind the existance of the others. However, that doesn't mean that conflict doesn't arise between the gods, and especially between the clerics of Derit (the planet.)
There are three types of gods, Social, Emotional, and Natural. Minor deities may be considered part of two different groups.

*Anilt rules over hundreds of lesser minor deities, mainly one for each major group of animals.
The deities can make an impact on the world in two fashions only. They may make use of their avatar and roam the lands freely. This is particularily dangerous because in this state it is possible for them to be killed. The second way is by granting their powers to various people throughout the world, as long as these people serve their purpose.
The Death of a God
The death of a god provokes a meeting immediately between all of the gods. The meeting takes place outside of time. Here they decide which mortal on Derit shall replace the fallen god. One of the major deities approaches the heir to the God. The heir has 24 hours before he/she ascends to godhood, if they accept the offer.
