a shrinking
"C"

And hopefully soon will cease to
"Be"

As I drifted off to sleep
I felt them there at my side
Fran, my family and friends,
with smiles so warm so wide
there was no need for me to weep

As the surgeon incised into my hyde
to remove the cancer there inside
he removed 12 inches of colon
a golf ball sized tumor
and many polyp`s to be rid of it all
so my belly is a little swollen

35 lymph nodes also he did take
only one proved positive to test
chemo is next in which to partake
so all of the evil we can forsake

My Fran is so gentle and strong
she cares for me and pampers me
so theres no way this can go wrong
its amazing how we two came to be

Only by chance did we meet
in the middle of the street
it seems as tho she was sent
to guide me thru this ailment

I must shout out and say
I had excellence in hospital care and stay
at the North Carolina, "Durham VA"
all of the Doctors and Nurses were a Panacea
in particular one Great Nurse named Maria
