Chemo cycle side effects

Yesterday I was feeling normal and at ease
till the Lab tech said roll up your sleeve
and she sucked out 3 vials of me blood as quick as u please
they checked me blood and confirmed I was not dead
so they filled me with chemo poison instead

It takes 5 hours to flow into yer hyde
it will knock you to your knees
drink cold tap water and your throat will freeze
and the after effects you get are real tough to imbibe

The cool outside air will tighten your throat
makes you gasp for air and start to choke
so glad those cigarettes I no longer smoke

Take a first bite of food and jaws will lock
go to bed at nite wearin gloves and socks
feet and hands smeared with lotion so skin wont crack and dry
get sharp pain in your eyes from tears if you cry

Have to wear gloves to get something cold from the fridge
holdin the milk jug without em it hurts to pour just a smidge
going to be six months to get over this bridge
I hope my will does not fade to conquer this ridge

My favorite foods taste bad and are hard to chew
it makes me feel sad and somtimes real blue
to get it to me stomach I have to force it on through
makes a Filet Mignon taste like "road kill" stew

I get tired and so grumpy it`s hard to hide
say and do things that are out of line
with regrets for them time after time
family helps me climb up over the ridge
and shows the way to cross the remission bridge
