Sunny days, hiking, fishing, canoeing, the crackling sound of a night campfire, roasting marshmallows, campfire songs, cooking outdoors where food always tastes best, pitching a tent, waking up to hear the birds sing and watching the sun come up. No it's not heaven, you're camping!

Camping and Cub Scouting go hand-in-hand. When you think of one, you think of the other. There are many different camping opportunities for the Scouts and Parents as well! There are a few 'rules' about who can do what at what age though, and you'll have to read through the different camp details to find one that suits your age, rank and interests. 1st Year Webelos Camp - Heritage 2007

This year our Pack wil be attending Camp Heritage, June 20th, 21st and 22nd.

Webelos Camp is held at Camp Stearns. Camp Stearns is located in Fairhaven Minnesota, bordering Lake Caroline, Clearwater Lake and Lake Augusta. It contains 1,200 acres of open field, forest, and marshes making it an ideal setting for outdoor activities. Remember, 'Take only memories, leave only footprints behind."

1st Year Webelos Camp is for the Scouts who have just graduated into the Webelos Rank, and it is the first time the Scouts can go camping without a parent. However there has to be 1 adult for every 5 boys at camp who stays there the entire time. 1 or 2 other adults can split the time. It is a Three day, two night program.

The fee for 1st Year Webelos Camp is $80.00. Camp fees are split into three payments beginning with an initial site deposit in November, another partial payment in February and the remainder due by May 1st. You will also need to turn in a Health Form with your final installment. Your fee includes, a tent (usually occupied by two boys), a ground mat, food and beverages, cooking utensils, stove, picnic table, mug, Camp Participation Patch and a structured program with the opportunity to take part in Achievement earning projects and other activities. There is also a Trading Post onsite so the boys can buy snacks and other scouting items. The boys have the opportunity to earn their Aquanaut Pin, Outdoorsman Pin and Naturalist Pin. Other Activities in the program are: Swimming, Snorkeling, BB Gun Range, Archery, Sling Shot Range, Fire Building, Knot Tying, Whittlin' Chip, Adventure Trail, and Den time to work on individual interests. The boys will be cooking their own meals (with adult supervision of course), and will have morning and evening Assemblies, including campfires and Flag Ceremonies.
