Chapter 1:Josh get's a Pokémon!
RINGGGG! Josh raised his sleepy arm and sweeped the alarm clock clean off the desk beside his bed. "AHHHHH," Josh yawned loudly. He got out of bed and picked out some new clothes for the bright blue morning. He decided on a short-sleeved shirt with Pokémon jumping out of the pocket, and a pair of jeans. He walked downstairs to eat his breakfast.
" Good morning Josh," his mom said with a cheerful voice.
" Good morning Mom," Josh said under his breath.
" What a great day to start your Pokémon journey off with. Blue skies, birds chirping, and what a smell. Mmmmmm. Those Lilacs should be blooming soon," Josh’s mom said while she put his breakfast on the table. Josh looked at it and sighed. Scrambled eggs again. For the 3 billionth time in a row. It had been so long since he had ate something else for breakfast.
" Ya mom, it is a nice day," Josh said in reply as he secretly let his very old Rattata eat his breakfast. He wished he could take his Rattata with him on his Pokémon journey, but Rattata could not fight anymore. Rattata had been his Grandfather’s prized Pokémon, and had been handed down to his father and then to him when he was only 4 as a playmate because Josh had never been able to make any friends in Pallet Town. After he had ate his breakfast he started out to go to Professor Oak’s house.
" Don’t forget your backpack Josh," His mom called out after him as she handed him his backpack.
" Thanks mom. Now don’t go fussing about being careful and not getting bit by any of the poisonous Pokémon and stuff. Alright? Bye!" Josh said as he walked off.
" Bye Josh," His mom said with a tear coming out of her eye. " I can’t believe I won’t see him till he is much older." She said to Josh’s Rattata as it started to go after Josh. "No you can’t go after him," she said with a sigh and walked inside.
Meanwhile Josh was walking along the road when he finally could see Professor Oak’s house. " Wow, I’m almost there!" He said running along the path. When he finally reached Professor Oak’s house there were about 2 other kids there. Josh noticed Professor Oak’s grandson, Matthew, there. Josh looked up above the kid in front of him who happened up being Matthew and saw Professor Oak standing by his best friend William asking him what Pokémon he would want.
" Now you," he said as he pointed at the first child in the line, "What is your name?"
" My name is William, Professor Oak," William said blushing.
" Well what basic Pokémon would you like?" Professor Oak said as he pointed at the row of Pokéballs.
" Well, I would like an Oddish if you don’t mind," William said with crossed fingers.
" Well here you go William." Professor Oak said as he handed William the Pokéball. William sent out the Oddish and looked at it. The green, round Pokémon with grass growing out of its head looked back. After examining his Pokémon, he called it back.
" Thanks Professor Oak!" William said as he grabbed his backpack and went towards Cinnabar Island. Josh noticed he had a fishing pole with him.
" Now its your turn my grandson," Professor Oak said.
" I want a Charmander right now!" Matthew said
" Alright grandson, but I." Professor oak said as his grandson cut him off.
" Just give it to me!" Matthew said in a loud stern voice. It sounded as if he was a general in the army. After Professor Oak gave Matthew his Pokémon, He ran off toward Viridian Forest laughing.
" Now you," Professor Oak said. " What happens to be your name?"
" My name is Josh, and I want an Eevee," Josh said excitedly.
" Well," Professor Oak mumbled as he grabbed 1 from the top shelf. " This is my last Pokémon of this type. Here is a small tip. When you get to Celedon City, get a Thunder, Water, or Fire Stone and use it on Evee. It will then evolve into Jolteon with a Thunder Stone, a Vaporeon with a Water Stone, and a Flareon with a Fire Stone."
" Cool," Josh said. " That may come in handy." He started walking off towards Cinnabar Island to go by his friend and fish a little, but he met him coming back, without his fishing pole. " How was the fishing William," Josh asked.
" Not very good. A large Seaking took my rod and all. My tackle box fell in the water when the Seaking dragged me along the dock. I did catch something though," He said as he grabbed a pokéball off his belt and threw it to the ground and a small shell came out. " I caught a Shellder. It has loads of awsome attacks."
"Cool," Josh said as he looked at the Pokémon. All of a sudden Professor Oak appeared by them.
"I forgot to give you two this," He said as he breathed in another gasp of air. "Here is a Pokédex for both of you and 10 pokéballs. Split the pokéballs up evenly please. I have to find Matthew!" He ran off waving at them.
" Well, now I don’t have to buy some Pokéballs," Josh said as he gave 5 to William and kept 5 for himself.
" Even though he gave us 5 I’m going to buy some more," William replied as he walked to the Pokémart.
" I’ll stay here and wait for you," Josh yelled to William. Josh sat down on a near by bench. He looked around and saw a Rattata creep around the corner. Before it could do anything Josh had his Eevee out and ready. "Eevee Quick Attack Now!" Josh yelled out. Eevee ran into the grass. Rattata looked around confused. All of a sudden Eevee appeared behind Rattata and rammed him in the back. Rattata flew a few feet and landed on his back. Josh threw a Pokéball at him. It wiggled once, Twice, Thrice, and then stopped. A small high pitched sound signaled that it had closed. "YES!" Josh yelled out.
" What is all the commotion about?" a voice said behind him.
He spun around and saw William. " Oh its you. I just caught a Rattata! Pretty neat eh?" Josh said.
" Ya. Well lets get a move on to Viridian City," William said as he headed to Viridian City.
" Wait for me!" Josh said as he ran after William.
