Today is
Daylight train is from geocities.com/skytop45/. Why the Cabforward helper engine on the back? This actually happened once on the Cuesta Grade in central coastal California. A Daylight passenger train stalled so a big Cabforward was dispatched to help. There was no siding to get the second locomotive around to the front of the train, so it pushed, which was against the rules because the relatively light passenger cars could have derailed if it had pushed too hard or if the 4-8-4 up front had slowed too much. But nothing bad happened and no official report was made. It was also against the rules for helper engines to push a train behind a caboose. If Yahoo has pulled the plug on Geocities, go here to see his Union Pacific train GIFs at Railfan.net
