Tidal Wave
(1975)
Sounds like a cheesy Irwin Allen disaster flick starring Lorne Greene, but it’s actually a cheesy Roger Corman disaster flick starring Lorne Greene. Roger bought a movie from Japan, dubbed it poorly into English, then shot new footage that appears to have been added into the original film in a totally random manner. Adding to the “unintentionally hilarious” proceedings are special effects that appear to have been made by splashing around in a bathtub.
The original title was “Submersion Of Japan,” and probably makes more sense. Lorne Greene is better known for the Irwin Allen disaster flick Earthquake and the 1970s TV-series Battlestar Galactica.
