Welcome to Rolling Thunder Ranch, 120 private acres of pastureland and trails tucked into the quiet heart of Minnesota. Our numerous pastures are filled with 32 horses and patrolled by 5 farm dogs and 3 inquisitive house/barn cats. The stables contain many champion horses, half of them Mustangs and half a variety of other breeds, all gently raised and trained in English or Western disciplines; sometimes in both.
2/22/06: Big, Important News: The town is faltering, dying, people moving away, economy shriveling...it's time for us to go, too. I never thought I would voluntarily leave, but it has to be done. I really ended up loving Rolling Thunder Ranch, almost as much as Willow Wind, but we're moving again, looking at farms elsewhere, and have decided to downsize a bit. With Shaman's Quest, Summer Tradition, Jacqui O, Briar Patch, Dakota Song and Ghostly Echo dying of old age or put to sleep after suffering illness in the past year, and Frosted Dawn/Freedom's Light/Dance Across the Sea/Where Never Eagle Flew/Midnight Fox sold, we are at the lowest number of horses we've had in years, even the births of Kalifah, a yet-unnamed bay pintabian colt, and Dove's bay-blanket filly. 9/23/05: Been too busy for updates...a vast number of horses have been lost to old age, including the entire Bachelor Herd (and the 3 mares born with them) except Briar Patch, who at 31 is the oldest surviving member. For the first time in years, we have under 50 horses. We have gained just 3 new foals: Baladorn, Zunia, and Nabucco. | History of the Farm | Fictional Works About the Animals |
