:: MKM: Sub-Zero Walkthrough :: Mission 1 :: - Objective: Steal the Sacred Map of the Elements -

Mission 1, an extremely simple stage, is a great level to hone your skills on how to properly execute Sub-Zero's combos. There are a couple traps to watch out for, one in particular being the pillars that come crashing down from the ceiling and have the ability to literally crush Sub-Zero, so look up occasionally as you progress through the level. To escape these deathtraps, stand about an arm's length away and tap any punch button. This will trigger the pillar, causing it to come crashing to the floor. As soon as it begins rising, run underneath it to safety. Do not run too far ahead, however, because another pillars awaits you. Something to keep in mind is, when there's one pillar, there's usually a second one beyond it. Continue walking all the way to the right and you'll eventually come to a balcony. Jump on the railing, then hop straight down so you bounce off the awning and land safely on the ground beneath. This is your first checkpoint. Fight your way through the Shaolin monks to the far left of the level. Kill as many of your enemy as possible to gain expeiernce points--the more enemies you defeat, the more experience points you'll gain, and the faster you'll max out to learn new special moves. One way to kill enemies that's also pretty fun is to freeze them, then push them under a pillar. Human sushi, anyone? Boss: Scorpion Make your way to the last room in the temple and you'll meet your first boss--the ninja spectre, Scorpion. He's a pretty weak boss with no special attacks, and he's easy to kill once you master Sub-Zero's 'Ice Blast' maneuver, followed by combos and uppercuts. After defeating Scorpion, tap forward, down, forward, HIGH PUNCH to perform Sub-Zero's 'Spine Rip' fatality. Hop onto the platform and snatch the Map of Elements, and head back to the room behind you. Climb to the top of the rope, then jump to the right to complete your first mission.
