Butler, Daniel Allen
Unsinkable - The Full Story of R.M.S. Titanic

Stackpole Books, Mechanicsburg 1998
"The Full Story" is a good way to start a description of the book. It contains a huge amount of information on all aspects of the ship and the disaster. It is very well-written, making it a good choice both for the serious researcher and those who just want to do some reading.

Caplan, Bruce M.
Logan Marshall's The Sinking of the Titanic

Seattle Miracle Press, Seattle 1996 (reprinted 1997, 1998)
An abrigded edition of Logan Marshall's book on Titanic, which was the first book published about the disaster. Marshall is difficult to use as a source due to many inaccuracies, but the book is a good read - one gets an idea of how people saw the disaster just after it happened. The original work is hard to find and can be expensive, and this edition is a very good alternative to it. After reading the original and this version, I feel that nothing of importance has been lost in the editing.
