33rd Norwich Brownies

I'm an Assistant Leader with the 33rd Norwich Brownies(I do trade patches, click on the home button to return to my home page and follow the links). my Brownie name is Little Owl. All leaders in the UK are usually named after a type of owl, it stems from the Brownie story where the children go to visit the wise Brown Owl in the woods. Hence the Guider in Charge is known as Brown Owl. We Currently have a full pack of 24 girls who are grouped into four sixes. We belong to the Eaton district which is part of the Norwich division and the Anglia region. The girls love doing crafts, cooking playing games, singing songs and earning badges. Recently we've earnt our Jester and Hostess badges and recently completed the science investigator badge. For our last meeting we visited the local fire station as part of our fire safety badge. It was great! (Photos to follow!) We were given a tour of the station, taught how a fire hydrant is used, given a demonstartion of how the hoses work and we got to test out the fire engine. The girls had great fun sitting in the engine and trying on the uniforms, we took Black Tips a visiting mascot along with us and he had a wonderful time. the fire engine even went out on a call whilst we were there!!!!

We have a travelling Mascot called George who is currently visiting Junior Troop 40 in Tennessee and having a ball! But we do miss you George! We learnt all about girl scouts in America for Thinking Day and we had our own indoor campfire where we made S'mores by roasting marshmallows over nightlights!!! They were scrummy! Little Owl and Brown Owl taught us songs they'd learnt at camp in the USA where they both worked as counselors. Little Owl taught us how to make pony bead geckhos one week and we did sweets for mothers day another week. Then we've been concentrating on our Fire Safety badge and activities for Easter. Wish us luck with our fire safety test after Easter!

Any Questions? Just ask Little Owl (Click on the letter!)

The girls make the Brownie Promise when they join:

I promise that I will do my best,
To love my God,
To serve the queen and my country,
To help other people,
and to keep the Brownie Guide Law.

The Brownie Law is: A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day.

And finally the Brownie Motto is: Lend a Hand (LAH)
