According to Phyllis (Scott) LaVoie Sebastian left home after having an argument with his father.  He then went to Canada and joined the Canadian Army during WWI.  He ended up making his home in Massachusetts, and never visited his family in Michigan again.  It is said that he planned to return for visits, but his wife Ethel's nervous condition prevented his taking any trips.

Tillie Henry Tennant

Lifetime Manistique, Mich., resident, Tillie Henry Tennant, 94, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at her home.

She was born April 15, 1910, in Manistique, the daughter of Sebastian and Bertha (Bruecklemeyer) Aubinger.  She attended the St. Francis de Sales School and graduated from the Manistique High School.

On May 17, 1938, the former Tillie Aubinger married Virgil Henry in Manistique.  He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1967.  She married Russell Tennant in Manistique on Oct. 23, 1971.  He preceded her in death on July 31, 1991.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manistique.  She was the church organist and pianist, a member of the Bell Choir and a member of the Missionary Society.  She was a mem-ber and pianist of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post No. 4420.  She also was the pianist at the Seventh Day Adventist Church and played the piano in the Manistique Senior Swingers Band.  She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and was a state musician for the Royal Neighbors.  She played for the C.B.C. Telethon every year since it started and was a finalist in the Ms. Senior Citizen of Michigan contest.  She was formerly employed at the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1966.
Survivors include: four sons, Bruce Henry of Ocala, Fla., Ge-rald Henry of Manistique, David (Sally) Henry of Isabella, Mich. and Leslie (Danalee) Henry of Manistique; three daughters, Laura (Joseph) Braeger of Manistique, Shannon Napoli of Rocky River, Ohio and Bonnie (Dick) Watkins of Ithaca, N.Y.; 26 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Emma Nelson of Kingsford, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands and parents; one son, Harvey Henry; grandson, Daniel Henry; two sisters, Corona Scott and Bertha Richard; and four brothers, Sebastian, Herman, Lawrence and Victor Aubinger, preceded her in death.
Visitation was held at the First Baptist Church in Manistique on Wednesday, June 30.  Funeral services followed with Reverend Jay Martin officiating.  Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Manistique.

Memorial donations may be directed to the First Baptist Church New Building Fund, 319 Walnut Street, Manistique, MI 49854.
The Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique assisted the family with arrangements.
