85, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at the Country Meadows Care Home.
She was born August 25, 1918 in Ypsilanti the daughter of George and Mary (Birchmeier)
Voelker. Lillian married James Scott on March 10, 1944 at Chanute Air Force Base
in Rantoul, Illinois; he survives. Lillian was a devoted wife and mother. She
loved golf and league bowling. She was a member of the St. Mary's Church in
Manchester where she was a religious education teacher, a member of St. Mary's
Altar Society and a volunteer at St. Louis School in Chelsea. In addition to her
husband, Lillian is survived by her five children, Jana (Barry) Boyer of East
Aurora, NY, James (Ann) Scott of Petosky, Jay (Linda) Scott of Manchester, Julie
(Russell) Aiuto of Manchester and Jodie (Tom) Anderson of Saline; sisters, Helen
Garner of Grass Lake and Mary Louise Wilcox of Naples, FL; eight grandchildren,
Katherine and Mark Boyer, Kate Scott, Sarah Scott, Leigh and Lauren Aiuto and
Ryan and Scott Anderson. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents and her
brother, Harold Voelker. A celebration of Mrs. Scott's life will held on Friday,
November 21, 2003 beginning with prayers from the Borek Jennings Funeral Home,
Jenter Chapel in Manchester at 1:15 P.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester with Rev. Thomas J.
Smith, OFSF officiating. The burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the St. Louis Center in Chelsea. Envelopes will be
available at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive
friends on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. with a scripture service 7:45 P.M. on

Serafine Sparapani
IRON MOUNTAIN — Serafine Sparapani, 82, of N4582
Traders Mine Road in Iron Mountain, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at his home.
He was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Iron Mountain, son of the late John and Maria Anna
(Giolitto) Sparapani.
Mr. Sparapani was a lifelong resident of the
area. He operated the family farm and a sawmill and he was also a logger.
Serafine was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Baraga
Council and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He had also
served as the Merriman Farm Union President and on the Breitung Township Board.
Serafine enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and working in his garage.
He married Dorothy Scott on Oct. 23, 1943, at Immaculate Conception Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; six children, Ervin (Carol) of Saginaw,
lower Michigan, James (Jeanine Finley) of Kingsford, Gayle (Neal) Sparapani-Katz
of Chicago, David (Judy) of Appleton, Wis., Sandra (Steve) Kmiec of
Shephardsville, Ky. and Peggy (Terry) Ouradnik of Iron Mountain; 17
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Julius, Ernest, Victor, and
Joseph and six sisters, Perine Gilhuber, Ann Graff, Catherine Stadler, Elvera
Sparapani, Rose Deldin, and Alice Sparapani.
Visitation will be tonight from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
at the Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Knights of
Columbus will recite the rosary tonight at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30
a.m. at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church. Msgr. James Kaszmarek will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
Serafine’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Donald Lusk
Lusk, Donald Manchester, MI (formerly of
Greenwood, IN) Age 69, passed way suddenly January 9, 2006 in Indianapolis. He
was born December 25, 1936 in Ann Arbor the son of James and Margaret (Myers)
Lusk. He married Shirley Scott on June 14, 1958 in Ann Arbor and she survives.
Donald is also survived by his sons: Steven (Jeri) of Germany, Daniel of Eden
Prairie, MN, Thomas of Greenwood, IN and Scott (Heather) of Indianapolis, IN,
nine grand children, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Donald
was preceded in death by his sister: Carol Largin in 2000. Donald served our
country in the Navy and was employed in sales for J.B, Hunt Transport until his
retirement in 2001. A Celebration of Donald's life will take place on Friday,
January 13, 2006 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Manchester beginning at 10:30
A.M. with Father Timothy D. Krzyzaniak officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be given to the Michigan Heart Association or the Michigan
Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the Borek Jennings Funeral
Home, Jenter Chapel in Manchester where the family will receive friends on

Jay Andrew Scott
Scott, Jay Andrew Manchester, MI
Age 57, passed away at his home November 22, 2008 with his wife, daughter,
sister and brother in-law by his side, following a brave battle with cancer. He
was born December 23, 1950 in Ann Arbor, MI. The son of James and the late
Lillian (Voelker) Scott. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda (Spiess) of
36 years, and their loving daughter Sarah. Jay was employed at O' Neal
Construction Co. as a superintendent for the past 23 years. Jay loved living at
the lake. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching U of M football games. Jay
had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all. In
addition to his wife Linda, daughter Sarah of Ann Arbor, MI and father James of
Manchester, MI, Jay is also survived by one brother; James (Ann) Scott of
Petoskey, MI, three sisters; Jana (Barry) Boyer of E. Aurora, NY, Julie
(Russell) Aiuto of Manchester, MI, and Jodie (Tom) Anderson of Saline, MI;
several nieces and nephews, father-in-law Louis Spiess, and many other relatives
and close friends. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday November
25 at the Nie Funeral Home located at 3767 W. Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor, MI. The
family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the start of
the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jay may be
made to Arbor Hospice or University of Michigan Center for Stem Cell Biology
(Jay Scott Memorial Fund).
