"There Is More To Me" "There is more to me than what people have seen and heard," says Smooth proudly as she discusses her current album, Reality, and the lead-off single, "Strawberries." She has moved from rap to singing and proud of it. "I've always sung on my recordings, but this time I'm doing a lot more." According to Smooth, it was Terry Lewis who encouraged her to reveal her new musical self. "He listened to some of my ideas and just said: 'You need to let that come through on this record.' Working with Terry and Jimmy jam turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Just simple and stress free.' Some have said that this 14 song set is like Female Mack meets hip-hop/alternative. It's edgy and street-wise and has ballad, too. It is definitely a departure from her "You've Been Played" days. "The picture is Smooth artist," explains the talented lady. "Not just a rapper, not only a singer, but an artist who expresses herself through the music.
