Smooth, the LosAngeles born and bred rapper/singer was aware of show business from an early age. Her mother is a local comedian and actress. Her brother, Chris Stokes also worked with Smooth on her LP "You've Been Played". "People, especially young people, that want to get into the music industry need to make sure they don't put all their eggs in that one basket. They need to have other things to fall back on, and not just put all their time and energy into music at a young age. Don't stop what you're doing. Go to school. Go to college. Get your degree. Have other things you want to do as well as music. Don't put that at the forefront." Smooth stated. Smooth spends her free time in the gym, writing music and reading. Her biggest hobby, she clamis, is "collecting candles. My favorite is one I got in London of a stompin' boot. It's cute. I love candles around me at all times--I like candlelit dinners, candlelit baths, candlelit bedrooms. It just sets a mood." No doubt that this LA girl is a true romantic--she's got a giant heart tattoo on her right arm and collects items with hearts on them, inluding jewelry, stickers (and, of course, candles). Smooth is generally even-tempered, but says that she gets annoyed when people think she wouldn't have a record deal if it wasn't for her VIP big bro (Chris S.). "I believe that the cream always rises to the top and that I would've been noticed no matter what. If my brother drove an ice cream truck, I would still like to think I would be here today."
