Chapter Four
It was the night after the ball,and Princess Serena wasn't sure she could do what Darien told her.Run away from the palace?They couldn't go anywhere without people recognizing them.All he had said was 'Disguise yourself'.Sure,she could wear differerent clothes,but she couldn't hide the moon symbol on her forehead,"Or can I?"she said aloud."Of course!"
She ran to her jewelry box that sat on her dresser.At the very bottom,there was what appeared to be a pen.It was the Lunar Disguise pen that Serena had recieved for her 13th birthday.She held it high."Moon Disguise Power! Transform me into...into a normal teenager!"The Moon princess was encased in a bright light.When the light faded,she looked like Serenity...but not like Serenity.
Her hair was no longer in odangos.It was in pigtails.Also,her hair was at least five inches shorter then it used to be.She was wearing a white sun dress and white house shoes.The Moon symbol was no longer on her head.
She opened her closet door.Serena knew her "normal"princess attire would not do.She discovered some sun dresses,sweaters,shirts,and skirts in an old box."These will have to do."she said as she put them in her suitcase.She also added her savings.
The princess had planned ahead.She had talked Luna into spending the night with Princess Mina and Artimis.She had fixed her mother some warm tea.Tea always made her mother drowsy,so she was asleep by 10:00.The serevents were busy cleaning up from the ball.They haden't gotten a chance during the day with all the chores they had to tend to.No one would notice Darien as he came.
"Princess."a voice said.She turned to her balcony door.Darien was leaning on the railing.She grabbed her suitcase,the pen,and the Cosmic Cresent Wand.The wand had also been given to her on her 13th birthday.It was a magical tool that would hurt enemies.At the age of 18,she would have recieved the Silver Crystal to place with it.
Darien helped her down from the balcony.He took a good look at her."Oh,you look so good! No one will recognize you." She replied,"Same to you."
He was in a pair of jeans and a long sleeved shirt.His black hair was tinted with brown.Serena pulled out the teleportation crystal she had stolen and told it to take them to Venus.Within seconds,they were standing in the city where the Love Palace stood.
Darien and Serena had found an apartment they could afford.It had a lovely view;overlooking a small pond like Serena was used to.It even came with furnature.As soon as they had gotten in the door,Serenity had taken Darien down on the couch.She kissed him for a while then just lie there,feeling safe and warm in his strong arms.Her eyes couldn't stay open,and soon she was asleep.
She awoke in the morning and heard a rap on her door.Groggly,she opened the door.The newspaper was there.The headline read,"PRINCESS OF THE MOON AND EARTH PRINCE MISSING."She was upset.Serenity had never experenced life on her own.She burst into tears.
This woke Darien."Serena,my love,why are you crying?"She tried to talk but only blubbers came out.He noticed the paper in her hand and read the headline."Oh,so this is it.Serena,this is our new life.Come on now."he said.
For weeks after that,she was very emotional.She also was sick and tired all the time.On June 30,her 15th birthday,she fianlly understood this.Darien returned home from his day.She said to him,"Darien! I finally know why I've been sick!"
