A dark cloud, seemingly covered the castle that Endymion stayed the next day. Endymion was awakened by three figures standing above him. It was Michel, Jed, and the priestess, Rei.
"Jed, what are you doing here?" Endymion asked trying to focus his eyes.
"Master. Rei and I journeyed here to tell you of something in urgency." Rei stepped up and continued.
"I have the missing part of the scroll. Actually...I did until my grandpa took it from me and I haven't seen it since."
"What did it say?" Endymion said still half awake.
"You will tansform back to your original state." Rei said softly.
"What?" Endymion said now fully awaken.
"But that's not all. You will turn into something much worse-an evil creature in the night, but during the day you will be your regular self, again." Rei said.
"Is that all?" Endymion said softly.
"No, it's not. you will hunger for blood because of your loneliness and desparity. You will feel hatred of everyone of their cruelness to you in the past. But you will only transform when the moon is up in full bloom."
Endymion looked at Rei and said, "Can you help me? This can't happen to me. Not now."
Michel understood clearly and said, "I will do everything I can to help you through this." Michel said. Then Endymion slowly turned to him and said, "Then get a pen and write a letter to the princess and tell her that I cannot see her anymore. Don't tell her why. She has enough things to worry about. But tell her that I will never forget her."
Then Jed said, "Master, I think you can see her tonight. The moon will not be full. This evening you can tell her everything yourself."
Everyone gave him a somewhat reassuring smile.
"I will go. I'll tell her tonight." Endymion said.
That night Endymion went to see the princess to tell her everything. But there was a party being held there. Endymion came in the lavish room and was greeted by Mina. "Prince Endymion. I'm so glad you could come. Serena has told me alot about you."
"I don't think we've met." Endymion said.
"Oh, I'm Mina, Serena's sister. So, where is that companion of yours?"
"Oh, you mean, Michel."
"Yes. He was very charming. Is he here also?"
"No, he's not."
"Oh." Mina said looking disappointed.
"Um, listen. Do you know where Serena is? I've got to talk to her."
"Oh, yes. She's here somewhere. Oh, there she is." Mina said pointing to her left.
Serena was at a nearby window gazing at the stars.
Endymion slowly approached her.
"Serena?" Endymion said softly.
"Endymion. I was just..."
Endymion held her hand and gazed in her eyes.
"She looks so happy... and I want to keep her that way...If she found out." Endymion thought.
"Is there something on your mind?" she asked him.
Endymion nodded and swallowed hard. "I have to ...you have to..."
Soon the guests began their dancing. Serena looked around and said, "Look they've started to dance." Then she pulled him to the dance floor.
"I know you are leaving soon." she began.
Then tears almost clouded Endymion's eyes, but he fought it back closing them for fear it might startle the princess who rested her head gently on his shoulder.
"I will miss you." he said.
Suddenly a sorrow-filled atmosphere clouded the two as they danced. She held him tighter and he also in return. Then he couldn't stand anymore of the pain of loosing her. Leaving her would be the hardest thing he will ever do.
"When I'm dancing with you, I feel complete like everything comes together. Do you feel the same way?" Serena whispered in his ear.
Endymion looked at her blankly and said, "No, I don't feel anything."
Serena felt like slapping him right then. "Doesn't he see how I feel?" she thought.
She stopped their dancing.
"You mean you don't feel the warmth and the conn..."
"Serena. I can't see you anymore."
"Yes, I know." she said slowly.
"I just wanted to tell you tonight that I will always treasure your kindess to me.'
"I will never forget you, Endymion."
"Then kissing her hand he said, "Farewell, Serena."
He walked away and told himself to never look back. Then Endymion heard her name called out, "Serena." said Andrew. "Come on. I have an announcement to make."
He clapped his hands together and said, "Everyone. I would like to say that Serena and I are going to be wed about this time next month."
Serena's heart felt like something pierced it. On top of that Andrew kissed her, but this time she accepted it. Knowing that Andrew was her future and nothing else with no one else.
Endymion turned and watched the couple as everyone congratulated them.
"Andrew will take care of her, and maybe one day she will learn to love him." he thought.
And with one more lingering glance he disappeared into the night.
