Chapter One

Author's Note: Here's the 4th chapter! Well, it's actually the 1st chapter of the 2nd part, but same difference. Okay, time has passed since we last saw our favorite heroine. Five years to be exact. This has got to be one of my favorite parts, even though I don't really have that many parts at the moment, so I can't really be too choosy. : ) You know the rules, Sailormoon belongs to Naoko Takeuchi, not me. I rate this part PG too. More romance in it. : ) Also, there are three guys who are introduced into Part Two and new villains. They all belong to me, and whatever else is related to them. Okay, let's get the show started!

By Lady Tamara

Chiba Mamoru had just got off from work as the vice president of Kashi Corporations. He was driving back to his condo when he saw a young woman with short blue hair. He pulled his car to the side.

"Mizuno Ami!" he called, leaning out the window.

"Mamoru-san!" she said, surprised. "How are you?"

"I'm good," Mamoru answered. He nodded his head at the bouquet of red roses that Ami was carrying. "So where are you going with those?" he asked. Ami's face saddened.

"Didn't anyone tell you? I'm meeting the others at the Temple. It is Usagi-chan's birthday today. She would have been twenty years old."

"She is, Ami-san." Mamoru corrected. "Not past tense."

"Mamoru-san, you still can't believe that--"

"Until I see her body Ami-san," Mamoru said firmly, "I'll never say that she's dead."

"It's been five years Mamoru-san," Ami said gently. "If she was still alive, she would have came back to us by now."

"What if she can't?" Mamoru demanded. "What if she's just trapped somewhere?"

"We've looked, remember? We scanned the entire place, but we couldn't find anything! Even Chibi Usa-chan and Sailor Pluto have returned to the future!" Ami's tone softened. "Mamoru-san, I know how hard this is for you, but we all loved Usagi-chan! Now we have to let her go. She wouldn't have wanted it any other way." Mamoru clenched his jaw and turned away from Ami. Ami looked at the ground in silence.

After a few minutes passed, she started to walk away.

"Wait," Mamoru finally said. Ami turned around. "I'll drive you to the Temple." Ami smiled softly.

"I have to go pick up some flowers though," Mamoru added, "Usako's favorite is white roses." Ami saddened a little when she heard how Mamoru had phrased his sentence.

He still believes that Usagi-chan is alive, she thought sadly.

Ami forced a bright smile on her face.

"Sure! We want you to be there too!" Mamoru smiled slowly.

"Let's go," he said. Ami got into the car and they drove off.

No one noticed a young woman step out from the shadows. She had eyes the color of sapphires and yellow golden hair. Her hair was put up into two balls on top of her head and a long stream of hair fell from each 'meatball'. Two words escaped from her petite mouth.

"I'm dead?!"

"Mamoru-san!" a startled Rei said. "What are you doing here?" Mamoru glared at her.

"Why didn't you tell me Rei?" he asked quietly. Rei looked at the other girls nervously. They didn't say anything.

"Well," she stammered, "you see. . .uh, we um. . ..we-- " Mamoru was surprised. It was rare when Hino Rei was such a mess.

"Uh. . .well. . .it's not really anything, but um . . .I'm the um. . .the new um. . . ."

"Just spit it out Rei!" Mamoru finally yelled. Luna answered for Rei.

"Our new leader." Luna said calmly, even though pain was evident in her eyes. "We have elected Rei-chan as our new leader."

"Your what?!?" Mamoru screamed. Minako tried to calm him down.

"Mamoru-san," she sad softly, "it was for the best. Usagi-chan's been dead for so long now, you ne--"

"NO!!" Mamoru exploded. "She isn't dead! She's still out there! She needs us!" Pause. "How could you do this to her?! Right when she needs you the most, you betray her! I can't believe you!"

"Mamoru-san," Makoto said quietly, "we've waited for so long now. If Usagi-chan was to ever come back, we would gladly give her the rightful spot back. But she's not here, not anymore, and the Sailor Senshi needs a leader, and Rei-chan is a fairly good choice."

"The reason I didn't tell you is because I wasn't sure how you would take it," Rei said.

"You have to accept the fact that Usagi-chan isn't here with us anymore, Mamoru-san," Artemis said.

"It takes time Mamoru-san," Ami said.

"But it'll get easier," Minako added.

"And soon you'll be able to get on with your life," Luna said softly, "as Usagi-chan would have wanted you to."

I know that they're right, Mamoru thought. I've only been lying to myself. I know that Usako isn't coming back. Deep down I knew the truth, but I just wouldn't admit it. They can admit it, so why can't you Mamoru? It's time to get on with your life, Usako would be so sad if she knew what I was doing to myself. I know that. I'll never forget Usako; I'll never forget the love that we had shared, but it's time. It truly is.

Everyone watched in silence as Mamoru slowly nodded his head.

"You're right," Mamoru agreed. "I have been lying to myself all this time. I've always knew that Usako wasn't coming back, I just didn't want to say it. In a way, I knew that if I had said it aloud, it would have meant that I had given up. It is time to move on. To forget." Mamoru turned around and walked away. The others stared after him sadly. Even though they had wanted to help him accept the truth, it was still hard to see his spirit so broken.

As Mamoru walked away from the sullen girls, he was unaware of a woman standing behind a tree. It was the same woman who had heard Ami and Mamoru earlier on. She had heard everything, and several tears were running down her face.

"Mamo-chan, Ami-chan, Rei-chan, Mako-chan, Minako-chan," she whispered, "how could you stop believing in me? For I am still here! I am Tsukino Usagi!!" she cried.

Usagi was walking around Tokyo aimlessly. She knew that she might bump into someone she knew, but she didn't care.

As she was turning a corner, she walked right into a man wearing a business suit.

"Oh!" she exclaimed. "I'm so sorry! It was my fault! I wasn't looking!" She stopped when she finally got a chance to look up at him.

He was absolutely gorgeous.

He had a strong muscled body with eyes of warm chocolate and hair of golden brown.

He almost looks like Mamo-chan! Usagi thought surprisingly. In fact, he's just as cute as Mamo-chan!

She stared into the stranger's warm eyes, and a memory soon came back to her. A memory long forgotten, but which was still hidden deep underneath.

A memory of her past life.

The Silver Millennium.

It was Princess Serenity's sixteenth birthday, and the palace was buzzing with excitement. There was to be a grand party once night came. Princess Serenity couldn't stay still.

"Princess Serenity," Princess Mars muttered, "if you don't sit down right now, the whole floor is going to break underneath your pacing."

"I can't help it Mars!" Princess Serenity said excitedly. "It's my birthday! My sixteenth birthday! How can I not be excited?!"

"It's not even your eighteenth birthday yet," Mars said. "That's when all the good stuff happens."

"Still. . . .it's just not the same!" Princess Serenity twirled in front of the mirror. "Well? How do I look?"

"As beautiful as always," Mars sighed.

"Thanks! I promised Falcon that I'd meet him on the balcony before the party starts." She took one last look at her reflection.

"I'll see you at the party, Mars!" she sailed out the door, leaving Mars in her room. She sighed.

"There goes whirlwind Serenity," she muttered. Mars checked the mirror and then left the room.

"Falcon!" Princess Serenity called, when the balcony came into view.

He smiled when he saw his princess running.

"I'm sorry I'm late!" Princess Serenity said breathlessly. Falcon bowed.

"You are not late Princess, it is I who is early." He smiled approvingly at her gown.

It was the customary gown that she always wore, but tonight it had a shimmery glow to it.

She was beautiful.

"As usual Princess," Falcon praised, "your beauty outshines even the stars." Princess Serenity blushed.

"And as usual Falcon," Princess Serenity teased, "your mouth outruns you."

"You are just too modest," Falcon said, as he reached into his pocket and brought out a velvet box. "I have a gift for you Serenity, but it pales in comparison to you." Princess Serenity looked at the ground so Falcon could not see her face turn a rosy red.

"Please take it." Falcon urged.

Princess Serenity took the box and opened it gently. She gasped when she saw the treasure inside.

It was a delicate silver chain, and on it was a crescent moon that was lined with several diamonds. They were Princess Serenity's favorite stone.

"Falcon!" Princess Serenity breathed. "I don't know what to say! It's beautiful!" Falcon smiled and took the necklace out the box carefully. He placed it around Princess Serenity's slender neck.

"You are the most important person to me Princess," Falcon took her hands in his. "If you were to ever leave me, I do not think that I could go on." Pause. "I love you Princess Serenity. I always have and I always will. Do you love me too?"

Princess Serenity had tears in her eyes, but whether they were tears of joy or disgust, Falcon did not know.

He soon found out.

"Oh Falcon!" Princess Serenity said in a choked voice. "I do! I do love you!" She fell into his arms. He hugged her tightly.

"I'll never let you go!" Falcon vowed. They looked deeply into each other's eyes.

Princess Serenity closed her eyes and leaned closer to Falcon.

He also did the same.

Their lips met each others halfway, and they shared a passionate kiss.

My first kiss, Princess Serenity thought giddily. I'll never forget tonight. Never.

"Falcon," Usagi whispered.

"Princess Serenity," Falcon whispered back.

Usagi's arms went around him, and did his. They hugged each other desperately, as if trying to prove to themselves that the other person was real.

"I've missed you so much!" Usagi said tearfully.

"I have too, my princess!" Falcon added. "I'll never let you go! Never!"

Back at Kashi Corporations, Usagi told Falcon about the Sailor Senshi and Prince Endymion.

"So what are you going to do?" Chihiro Kannuki asked.

"I don't know," Usagi answered truthfully, "all I know is that I don't ever want to see them again." she narrowed her eyes. "I risked my life for them time after time, and this is what I get in return." Usagi said angrily. "I almost wished that I was dead!"

Kannuki placed his hand over Usagi's.

"Don't ever say that again, Usagi." Kannuki warned. "I forbid it."

"You, a mere fighter for the Moon Kingdom, forbid me, the Moon Princess to do something?" Usagi laughed. "Very funny, Kannuki!"

"So sue me," Kannuki said boredly.

"All right, I will!"

"You don't dare. . . ."

"I do!" Usagi shot back.

"Fine!" Kannuki said. "You may be the princess, but I bet you're still as ticklish as before!" He reached across his desk and started to tickle Usagi. She screamed and squirmed away.

He chased her around the room.

"Do you still dare, Usagi-chan?" Kannuki laughed. "Do you?"

"No!" Usagi gasped. "I don't!" She managed to get away from him for a short while, but then he went around his desk and wrapped his arms around her waist.

Usagi smiled softly and circled his neck with her arms.

"I've missed you a lot Kannuki," Usagi whispered.

"As have I," Kannuki said huskily.

As he bet down to place a gentle kiss on her lips, the intercom on his desk beeped.

"Mr. Chihiro," a woman's voice said. "Mr. Chihiro, Mr. Chiba is here to see you."

Kannuki walked to his desk and pressed a button on the machine.

"Mr. Chiba?" Kannuki confirmed. "Send him in."

"Right away, Mr. Chihiro." she said and signed off.

Kannuki looked back at Usagi and saw her looking thoughtfully at the intercom.

"Is something wrong, Usagi-chan?" Kannuki asked worriedly.

v"I was just thinking of something. Chiba. . . . ." Usagi suddenly looked at Kannuki with wide eyes. "Chiba Mamoru?!?"

"How did you know?" Kannuki questioned. "He's the vice president of Kashi Corporations. You'll like him, he's a really nice guy. Hasn't had a girlfriend for years though. Said she--"

"Don't you see Kannuki?" Usagi said hysterically. "Chiba Mamoru is none other than Prince Endymion!" She watched as Kannuki's face lost all expression.

"You mean, I've been working with the Prince of Earth for all this time, and I didn't even know?" Usagi nodded grimly.

There was a loud knock from the other side of the door.

"Kannuki?" Mamoru's voice came through. "It's me, Mamoru!" A horrified Usagi looked at Kannuki.

"I don't want to see him right now Kannuki! Please!" Usagi begged. "I'm not ready, not yet!" She looked at the door desperately.

"Kannuki?" Mamoru asked. "Is something wrong?"

"No Mamoru-san," Kannuki answered. "It's just that I'm on the phone right now. It'll be a little bit longer."

"Oh, that's okay. I can wait," Mamoru said.

"Kannuki," Usagi finally said firmly, "as your princess, I order you to listen to me!" Kannuki looked at Usagi in surprise.

It has been so long since I've heard her talk like that, Kannuki thought. She hasn't changed at all.

He kneeled before Usagi on one knee.

"As you wish Princess Serenity," Kannuki said. Usagi smiled at Kannuki gratefully.

"Thank you Falcon! Thank you!" Usagi embraced him and went to find a place to hide. After she was hidden, Kannuki went to welcome Mamoru.

* * *

Deep in the depths of Tokyo, there was a dark castle that was surrounded by a murky lake, with the exception of a draw bridge. Even during daytime, it was completely shrounded in darkness.

The Kayashi Castle.

There were many rumors surrounding the castle. People said that other people were murdered there, and there spirits still haunted the castle. Others believed that a flesh-eating ogre lived in it. Whatever it was, no one dared to step within twenty miles of it, for fear of never returning.

There was evil there, all right. An evil far more dangerous than anyone could ever conceive.

The Pernicious Court.

They had existed back during the Silver Millennium, though they were never found. The court itself was powerful enough, but the true evil was their princess.

Princess Iniquity.

A thousand years ago she despised Princess Serenity. A thousand years later, she still hated Princess Serenity, but with even more venom than before.

Princess Iniquity was a beautiful woman. She had long wavy hair the color of velvet purple that trailed to her knees. Her eyes were the color of an amethyst, beauteous, but deadly. Her gown was a violet black that was off the shoulder. It had a deep purple sash around the waist that tied and trailed down in front of the gown. On her head was a crown, for she wanted the world to know that she was of royalty. The crown had an amethyst in the center, with black pearls surrounding it. The crown was the source of her power.

"Where is she?!" Princess Iniquity howled.

"We do not know Princess," Inertia said, "but it seems that Princess Serenity has just vanished." Inertia was named after science, and was one of Princess Iniquity's best warriors. Even though she was not as elaborately dressed as Princess Iniquity, she still posessed an air of royalty around her. Her outfit was a simple skintight dark blue suit that covered her legs and then the top stopped a little below her shoulders. She had on black boots that were up to her knees and black gloves that went to her elbows. There was a silver chain that adorned her waist, and her dark violet hair was tied up in a ponytail, with black silk ribbons as decoration.

"You and I both know that Serenity cannot just disappear into thin air. Find her Inertia!" Princess Iniquity demanded. "Find her alive and bring her to me!"

"Yes, Your Highness," Inertia said, bowing low.

"Now go! And do not return until you have her, understood?"

"Of course, Princess Iniquity," Inertia obeyed. She then vanished.

An evil smile played on Princess Iniquity's lips.

"Yes, Serenity," Princess Iniquity said dangerously, "I will make you pay for betraying me! What is mine will always be mine!" she narrowed her eyes. "And Prince Endymion will always be mine!!"

That's the end of this part! Sorry that this was so short! I had to stop here because this was a really good spot to begin the next chapter! It leaves you wanting more and more! : ) So who exactly is Princess Iniquity and why would Prince Endymion have belonged to her? And will Usagi ever reunite with Mamoru and her friends again? Read on!!
