Chapter Six

Darien Chiba was sitting in the courtroom, waiting. His client sat next to him, nervously twiddling his thumbs. The jury was deliberating over the innocence of his client. Darien was zoning out.

He sighed heavily. He had become a lawyer so that he could be a better King in the future. He wanted to be a fair, honest King, and he figured becoming a lawyer was the best way to do that. What he had not accounted for was what it would do to his relationship with Serena.

He knew that it had been twenty-two years to the day since the scouts went their separate ways. It was only a month after that when he and Serena went their separate ways, and for once in their relationship, it was not his decision. Serena had told him that she was as in love with him as she had ever been, and because she loved him, she had to let him go. She had to let him get his fill in life, become a lawyer, learn things that would be useful in the future. When he protested, she told him, in a tone that only royalty could muster, that she ordered him to. She had also ordered him, with a smile, to return to her when he knew the end was about to begin so that they could continue where they had left off.

He had left Juuban only because he knew that their love could carry on.

It was then that he heard it. The signal that he could return to his love, the beeping from his black colored watch.

Darien stood up, ignoring the curious glances of the people around him, and left the courtroom. Once he had reached his car, he pushed the button that turned the watch into a communicator, and then pushed the impossibly small black crystal, and listened.

"I am Eternal Sailor Moon! How dare you shatter the peace of earth! In the name of the moon, I will destroy you!"

Darien never heard anything else, for his was lost within his soaring memories.

That night he was on a plane to Juuban, looking forward to see the love of his life again.
