I was lying there in bed when I heard a bunch of footsteps coming down the hall toward my room. I lay back and pretended to be asleep and saw who was there through half-closed eyelids. Six young girls and one boy walked into my room where one of them, the one who lived in the house I was occupying told them all of how her parents found me and how I had amnesia. At that point I heard a lot of oo's and ahh's, those little girlie sounds that will get on any mans' nerves. The stood staring at me for a few moments then they left. As soon as they were gone I sat up, they all looked familiar to me somehow. I was still weak and my legs wobbled a bit when I stood up. I unwrapped the bandage on my head and felt the huge round scab on the side of my forehead, it was healing fast along with all my other scratches and abrasions. I walked over to the desk on the opposite side of my room and sat down in the chair. I looked over the writing materials and picked out a book that was obviously supposed to be some sort of diary. It was rectangular and had a large red rose printed on the front. I had no idea why roses attracted me, but I felt as though I had some connection with the beautiful flowers. I picked up the book and opened it to the first page, it was blank with lines spaced evenly for someone to write on and had a light background of roses and vines. I picked up a calligraphy pen and dipped the nib into a pot of ink to my left, I touched the pen to the paper and began to write. I don't know who I am or where I am from I began, but in this diary I will keep every memory I have and write everything I experience in my new life. I guess since I don't remember my name I ought to choose a new one. Endymion, somehow that name sounds familiar I thought, oh well It has a nice ring to it, I suppose my new name will be Endymion. I signed my new name at the bottom and closed the book, unhooking the small key from the top I pressed it into the gold lock on the side of the book and locked it, then shoved the book into the pocket of my obviously brand new trousers. I got up and dressed myself in the clothing I found on my bedside table, there was a black T-shirt a green button-up shirt to go over it and the khaki trousers I already had on. I went over to the dresser and found the drawers full of new clothes like those I already wore, there were socks, underwear, pants and shirts of all different colors and types in the drawers, all new. I looked over to the two doors beside the dresser and opened them to reveal a large closet with hooks and hangars on bars across the small room. Hanging by itself in the middle of the bar was a black tuxedo with a fake red rose sewn into the pocket, I guess the person who bought all this planned for me to stay a while. Well, I'm not stupid enough to turn down a hot meal and a comfortable bed, I guess I'll stay here for as long as I'm welcome. I walked back over to my bed and lay down on top of the covers, soon I drifted off to sleep. I dreamed I was standing in a beautiful garden and there was a young woman beside me, she was a princess and I a prince and she was sad about something, I couldn't bear to see her cry, somehow I felt I had always known her, always loved her. I woke with a start, could my dream mean anything, did it have something to do with my past I wondered? Who was that girl, was she real, did I really love someone in my other life? It was just a dream I told myself, just because I dream of a beautiful girl who loved me doesn't mean it was ever real. C'mon Endy stop fantasizing, you have a new life to start don't mess it up yet trying to remember your past! I lay back down and slept some more, this time I didn't dream.
