The Final NumbersThe season is over! Conrats to Ferdie, George, and Dan for placing in the top three! Nice big payday for Ferdie, that's for sure. Well, here's how I'm going to handle it: For those of you who have paid in full, I am going to apply your winnings to next year's ante. It's much easier that way. For those of you who placed, I am going to keep next year's ante in full and cut you checks for the remaining amount. I pretty much have to do it that way since everybody pays at different times and I don't always have the funds all at once. Those of you who owe me money still, please pay now...I need to pay off the winners! My address is on the left column at the bottom.. Here's how the money situation breaks down:$200 + 42 - 20 (from last year) - 50 (next year's ante) = $172
George Takes 2nd = $56.00
*Ebert Takes Third = $30.00
*Sutton = $30.00 towards next year's ante
*Johnson = $4.00 towards next year's ante
*Werle = $24.00 towards next year's ante
*Vilk = $24.00 towards next year's ante
*Arnold = paid his $11.00
*Peter Dann = paid his $26.00
*Bit = $21.00 towards next year's ante
*Cooper = $18.00 towards next year's ante
Waltemyer = still owes $2.00
*Rutledge = paid his $32.00
Maynard = still owes $26.00
2000-2001 K-zoid FF League StandingsBelow is a chart of how much money is won with each win and payment status. Remember, the money you win actually is coming back to you from your $50 ante. The money won is added to your prize money if you place in the top three of the league...otherwise, you just collect the money you have won for the wins.
1. The Money: The ante will be $50. That makes it a $700 purse. Not bad. Well, the whole $700 won't go to the top 3. There is a step to reduce the problem of teams "giving up" when the season nears the end and the owner knows he can't place in the top 3. Each team that wins a game will be awarded $3.00. Since there are 14 teams in the league, and 7 teams will win each week, that means $21 will be taken out of the purse each week. 17 weeks X $21 = $357 to be taken out total leaving $343 left over to split with the top 3. 1st place gets $200. 2nd place gets $90 and third gets $40. Remember, that's on top of the money you've accumulated from your wins. So, if the first place team has a 14-2 record, they would collect $42 on top of the $200 they won for taking first. After the first season, when some teams didn't change their line-ups in the last weeks, some of us got screwed from that lack of effort since we needed the team with the poor record to win. Now, even teams with poor records still have something to keep their interest.
